Default @Sega: fix the Mega Drive Mini sound delay or riot!

Seriously, the Mega Drive Mini seemed so promising, with its sleek design and great line-up of games. But now it seems to be quite the bummer as the games have a delay in how the sound effects play??? I know that the Mega Drive is a capricious hardware which is difficult to emulate, especially when it comes to sound accuracy, but so far I never heard about a sound delay issue with Mega Drive emulators so that would be sad if it happens with the Mega Drive Mini... :/

And the sound quality on top of that. My 30 year old Genesis shouldn't sound better than the top of the line reiteration.

Agreed, there should be no delay with the SFX at all (how that managed to even be a thing is beyond me), and the emulation for the YM2612 and (probably) PSG could definitely be better than that (it's better than the PS4/XBOX One/PC/Switch but there's still some room for more improvement/refinement), hopefully M2 can address these issues before release and fix or at the very least minimize them to make this system as good as it can possibly be (let's not forget, this system isn't only meant to jump on the mini system bandwagon, it's also meant to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Genesis' release in North America so as a die-hard Genesis fan from day 1 of my childhood I expect the best representation of the original hardware as possible for such a milestone).

You all should go to M2's social media to voice your complaints.
    That's your best bet.

It's official, the Mega Drive sound is simply too great to recreated. All hail the original hardware.

Who reported the delay? I've watched a few videos and even from Modern Vintage Gamer and he went pretty deep but didn't report it. Can anyone link?

I second that. Though the Nuked OPN2 emulator has nailed the job with the cycle-accurate emulator (which turns out slow to run on tiny hardware like the RPi). Still nothing will every feel as right and real than bare metal hardware. Anyone curious of how far we can push the YM2612 should jump on my other topic in this forum and see my re-creation of Thriller using only the YM2612 for melodic instruments. Everyone else lazy can just follow this link.

Isn't this just a little OTT. How many people will even notice a delay, much less go to the trouble of putting it through a wave analyser? These mini's are novelties for fans to have a bit of fun and relive their youth and have a simple device to play some classics on a modern TV

If one is a serious Die Hard Mega Drive gamer where audio and 100% perfection means so much, they'll only use the original hardware on a CRT TV, they wouldn't lower themselves to use a Framemeister LOL; That's my only issue is the lack of scanline filters, the MD emu on my Og Xbox got more filters.

That's a whole lot of justifying crap quality control.

the delay in Columns is very apparent, just check out the videos. Not so much in other games, though.

There could be two reasons for this:

1-M2 are overrated (and I think they are, a little)
    or
2-it's impossible to get a 99% correct emulation with these fake hardware, despite any tech advancement (even the espensive FPGA aren't a good solution after all).

I don't know but if sound issues should stay, then I prefer the AT Games clones, at least they have a real cart slot.

The AtGames clones have even worse sound issues though :P

Though if cartridge slot is a priority and you prefer to stick to new hardware the Mega Sg would make way more sense, the Minis are intended to be more game collections instead that just happen to come in pretty wrapping.
