Genesis GG Adapter for Mega SG release date?

Have I completely missed an announcement, or are we legitimately being ignored on the adapter front by Analogue? I was under the impression that the Game Gear adapter was set to release shortly after the console. They seem to be pouring all of their efforts into the DAC (which does look slick), and I'm worried this project is being put on an indefinite back-burner.

Coincidentally I was just wondering about this a few nights ago. I did a bit of searching and indeed there are no updates at all. On Analogue's site they still have it mentioned as coming in 2018.

Yeah, pretty crazy. And with the Analogue Pocket having been announced, it's starting to look like they're moving on from the SG without fully delivering on the original pitch. I really hope this isn't the case because they are one of a handful of clone console makers that I have full faith in ATM.

    Sweat

Their lack of updates stopped me dead in my tracks from ordering the Analogue Pocket.

Notice how the Analogue Pocket doesn't show any of its adapters functioning or in existence. Will years (or never) go by before the GG and Lynx adapters show up for the Analogue Pocket?

For anyone serious about playing Game Gear games, there are three listings on ebay for refurbed/modded systems with VGA output.

I am honestly sold on the Analogue Pocket for the pixel-perfect 1440p display. But I get where you're coming from. It's almost a crime that we don't have the adapters for the SG yet.

I had thought about those for a very long time but the price (plus my aversion to modding) has kept me away. I have a large collection of un-modded systems and a handful of clones. The UltraHDMI for the N64 has had me interested for a long time, as there are few alternatives to the PQ it provides, outside of sloppy emulation.

Didn't they just release an announcement about this? The adapters are coming in February, I believe.

    Source?
There is nothing on their website, still says available in 2019.

Though thankfully going to look for info I did get to score a translucent black Mega SG and soundtrack cart.

Analogue replied to me on Twitter. February is the correct release time. https://twitter.com/analogue/status/...873038337?s=19

They tweeted about it on Nov. 18

    "Shipping in February," they said.

Sick. Now if only there was some way to support Gear-to-Gear 2-player...
come to think of it, the Analogue Pocket doesn't incorporate system linking. That would've been dope if they pulled that off with wi-fi.

Yeah, they said February next year. Here's a link to the specific tweet: https://twitter.com/analogue/status/...873038337?s=19

And the Analogue Pocket doesn't support linking? I find that surprising since it was a pretty popular feature of the GameBoy. If they have GameBoy linking working, I wonder if they could do other systems through the same port.
