Megadrive Making a Mega Drive / Genesis game in 2019

    Hi Everyone,

Whenever I complete a project, I usually like to write "post-mortem" / personal feedback articles about them. As my 3 Mega Drive / Genesis games are now available on cartridge, I wrote down a detailed feedback of my experience about making games on this wonderful console with modern tools.

    You can read it here:

I hope you'll enjoy it, and ask me any question you have!

I love reading the post-mortem type articles that people will put up on Gama. It's a great platform and you wrote a great article!

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the article!

I really encourage you to try SGDK, it's a very well done SDK and quite easy to learn if you have some experience in coding in C.

IMHO this was lighter on content than your previous GB postmortem. It was kinda fluffy, "did you know you can do this? You can! No details btw".

    Thanks for your honest feedback!

I actually wrote it in a way that would avoid to re-explain stuffs covered by the Gameboy post-mortem (tiles, scrolling planes, palette-based fading, etc.), to focus on what was "new" to me when I made those MD games. But maybe it wasn't a good choice.

To help me improve it, what areas / sections / topics do you feel too short or missing?
