Default Ultracore differences: Mega sg vs colombus circle vs SLG

I played a bit on my mega sg, and then played the CC rom, and noticed differences. CC version seems better, i noticed 2 areas that are hard to reach with mega sg, and CC has additional platforms to access these areas, also a bonus life that you cant get on mega sg. Just wish that cc had the same controls scheme by default has mega sg, i need to change it to 8 way B. I will post when i get my slg cart if i see differences, so far cc seems more polished

    Hmm interesting.
Ultracore is better with the B layout and the 8 way layout plays exactly like Hardcorps but i missed a lock mode with mode button.

You can "lock" by standing still and then shoot, but yeah, I'd also have preferred if it was possible to toggle it with a button.

Use the 8 way B layout in CC version you can use the A button to toggle on/off the lock function, much better to play, its the standard layout of the mega sg game

Yeah, like the Hardcorps, but this "8 way mode" lacks the lock during shoting+walking, they could have used Mode button for this...

In under 2 minutes from beginning of the game, i noticed 2 secret areas not accessible on mega sg, the more i play the more i find the CC version more complete, its almost like they had a more complete rom to work with than the team from mega sg. I wish i could post pictures but it doesnt work

I just finished the game with an emulator and save states, holy f$&@ this game gets brutal in the later stages!!! Its a great game, but there are too many cheap death spots in the game, I had a hard time finishing the game even with the save states! Also the jump timing with the horizontal traps in the last level is super tough to nail, i dont know if i will have patience to finish the game on real hardware

This is why I've resigned myself to using the other shooting mode. It's not intuitive and I can't get used to the idea of "shoot, then press a direction" having different results than "press a direction, then shoot", but the game seems to be built around that mode (particularly the bosses). I'm a little annoyed that there's no way to shoot directly below you while you're jumping either.

Does anyone knows if the extra levels (the incomplete sections with vehicular combat in a top down perspective) were added in any of version of the game?

Just received my slg copy in the mail! First impressions: it seems to be the same version of the CC release, but it has a 6 button control scheme! Making slg release possibly the best version of the game, will have to test further

Found out something weird: played on my xeye and it automatically sets the game to a 6 button control layout, when i put the cartridge in the mega sg or if i play through emulation its 3 button only.
