I always had a soft spot for the Jag. Sure it's got a small library full of some real stinkers but the mediocre to good games are really pretty fun. I love it's little brother the LYNX above any other handheld of the day as well though.
^^Same here on both counts. The Lynx is still my favorite handheld of all time...
I remember seeing the lynx when it was brand new thinking ".....what?". The lynx seemed REALLY ahead of its time...like....that thing was powerful. Atleast the lynx didn't use the jaguar controlpad
The Atari Jaguar will always have a special place in my heart. By sheer luck I managed to by the console and the CD add-on and a lot of great games for (relatively) cheap a few years ago, and it was a blast. Aliens vs Predators on the Jaguar was one of the best, most overlooked game of the early 90s.
I do not mind either system to be honest and can find good games and enjoy myself with all three,but as for voting it is the 32X
32X = Kolibri,Stellar Assault,Space Harrier,Blackthorne,Knuckles,Doom
3DO = Quarantine,Return Fire,Road Rash,Need For Speed,Monster Manor
JAG = Doom,AVP,Rayman,Tempest
3DO has a vast majority of quirky and weird games I can just download and burn. The games aren't nearly as 'fun' as the ones released for 32x/CD for the most part. I have a lot of nerdy get-togethers/parties and Plumbers Don't Wear Ties, Mind Teazzer, and Onee-san to Issho! Janken Paradise make for a hella fun night compared to...what I have on my 32x - which is just Star Wars, Doom, Mortal Kombat II, Kolibri, Tempo, and Knuckles Chaotix.
32x is better though, when I have actual gamer friends around, though.
I had a Jaguar for a month last fall. Traded it in because there just wasn't anything interesting on it.

The 3DO is one of the most overrated consoles in gaming history IMHO. The Jaguar had a few notable games but Jack Tramiel was as an insane parasite and he no idea how to properly market it. He died this year and no one even gave a rat's ass, rest his soul. The 32x was conceived by Sega of America and should have never been released. It was an utter failure before it was even released. Sega should have released the Neptune (genny+32x combo) instead for $150. All these consoles were very poorly marketed and were handled by mindless incompetent fools with no idea of how to properly make them profitable and enjoyable.

Yeah, generally by people who haven't played the games and just want to blurt out something about $700 as though that was what it cost for its entire life cycle. It's kinda like people saying the Saturn was too expensive and not good enough for its pre-launch $400 asking price.
I say 3DO for obvious reasons. Better library, better graphics, lot's of firsts on the console. Yes, most of them were ported to other consoles, but many of the ports didn't quite feel as good as the 3DO version. I feel this way about Gex and Need For Speed. They are also pretty reliable machines. The games and consoles are fairly common and half way affordable.
32X just didn't have enough games, although out of the few it does it had some good ones. My favorite is Afterburner.
The Jaguar was very powerful especially with the CD add-on. Possible more so than the 3DO but I am not sure about that. But it's a shame that the library is very small. My favorite on the Jag is Tempest 2000.
MY SEGAS[Model 1 Sega CD x 5] [Model 1 HD Genesis w/Component Video] [Model 2 Genesis] [32X CIB] [Master System Model 3010] [Nomad w/LCD mod] [Dreamcast] [Saturn] [Game Gear]
The early machines were pretty reliable - the <$300 machines were mostly disposable garbage.
That's my main quibble - Sega killed it before we got to see hardly anything. They may have had good reason to (depending on who is giving Sega's side of things), but it still doesn't detract from the fact that it was killed before we got to see any 2nd gen titles, and the 2nd gen games of any console tends to be where they really shine.32X just didn't have enough games, although out of the few it does it had some good ones. My favorite is Afterburner.
It's funny that the Jaguar is seeing better games after it's death than while it was alive (Battlesphere Gold, Protector:SE, etc).The Jaguar was very powerful especially with the CD add-on.
