Yeah, that "Vista renamed" rumor even affected a marketing professor I know. Windows 7 is definitely better than Vista. I switched from XP x64 to Windows 7 64-bit for a number of reasons, not the least of which was its better media playing capabilities and Direct X 11. I did decided to upgrade my RAM from 2GB to 6GB shortly after that switch though.

I recently got a new PC with 7 64-bit, and I have definitely noticed that it runs more smoothly than Vista. Vista was often glitchy, even when my PC was brand new.
