The forum's got to the point where there's almost always people logged in, lurking, hanging out for no good reason; I'd love to see a Java chat built into the forum. What are the chances of this?

I wouldnt be against it. But i certainly want the forums to stick around. I would let the new things we already have settle in before we deluge ken and the webmaster with more things to add to the website. I believe we are becoming the leading Genesis website on the internet, for what it's worth.
Sega-16's Resident Sports Authority. Chief Heckler of the Midwest.
Next up on the tee:
Nigel Mansell's World Championship Racing
Slam City (starring Scottie Pippen) - CD32X
...and more!
A chat room would be an interesting idea, however, with the rabble that posts on here I am doubtful that the Mega Drive will be discussed for too long. It might be a good place for the techno-babble forum members to vent their frustrations over various chip speeds without having them encroach upon decent threads.
My experience is that chat dies a quick death on even the most populated forums. Once the novelty wears off, no one posts anymore.
A chat room loses the main benefit of the forum - that our witty and insightful ramblings are saved for generations in the future to read.
