    Default sega megadrive 2 pal but i like to play japanese games on it

    i bought a new megadrive 2 for 5 euro s

    i heard that you can play japanese and american games on it by sawing some pieces from the system what do i have to saw and does it work or is it yust a fairy tale

    pleas some response

    Japanese cartridges are physically bigger so don't fit in a western consoles cart slot, so you need to take a saw to it to widen the slot. You'll also need a 60hz switch for compatability with US and Jap games that don't otherwise play.

    You must use RGB, and have a TV that can handle 60Hz.

    Well you don't have to, you can switch to 60hz to start a game, then switch back to 50hz to play it in colour through RF or composite. Although then the game doesn't play at 60hz speed, so RGB is the way to go.

    alright

    i begin tomorrow with sawing lets see what i make out of it

    but do i have to build a switch on the sega or do you mean switch to 60 herz with the remote control

    You fit the 60hz switch onto the console, its easy to do on megadrives.

    If you don't feel confident on lifting legs of the chip, where if you break it, the console is dead, don't do it..
