Love this game for it's varied level design, gameplay innovations and smooth webslinging. I admit the gfx are crappy though, should've been much better considering the source material.

Good article. Perfectly sums up my feelings about the game. I also didnt like the Sega CD version.

Ya know what, this is one of those games that I just cant like no matter how many times I try to play it. That was a good take though. I cant ever figure out where to go, and when I do i always die in the first level and just turn it off. Same thing goes for maximum carnage, but I can get a bit further in that one. Again, great job on the take. Yeah, the only spiderman game that i really liked was spiderman 2 for PS2, and that was really only because you could jump off the empire state building.

Sorry for this OFF TOPIC reply, guys, but I couldn't resist it -
    ---------------------
I prefer the first 2 Spider-Man movies over the Tim Burton Batmans, but only slightly.
And I deeply dislike Batman Begins. Such a nonsense, that batmobile is one of the ugliest things ever (re)designed for a comic-based movie....
My favorite superhero movies, however, are Superman II and X3.

The same thing happens in Daredevil, a superhero movie I just loathe.

And I consider Spider-Man vs. the Kingpin to be very good.
Strong gameplay, captured the mood of the comic book perfectly.
You guys remember the feeling when you first beat Kingpin at the end? Wow.

One movie doesn't have to be better than the other for me. I like Batman,
    Batman Returns, Spider-Man 1 & 2 and Batman Begins. I really disliked
Spider-Man 3 though, and can't wait for The Dark Knight.

    That's why on IMDb.com:

    - Spider-Man 1 gets a 7.4/10 (118,980 votes)
    - Spider-Man 2 gets a 7.8/10 (96,486 votes)

And the best superhero movie ever:

    - Batman Begins gets an 8.3/10 (148,577 votes)

It's also #102 on the IMDb.com top 250 while the Spider-Man movies are
not on it. Don't get me wrong, I really love the first two Spider-Man movies,
but I like Batman Begins better.

So long as no one mentions Batman & Robin, I'm cool.

Haha, have you heard the director's commentary for that movie? Schumacher just apologizes the whole time. It's pretty hilarious.

When Batgirl was introduced, the whole thing became a parody of itself. It was so sad...

Well, NOW I'm renting it just to hear this! Forget the funny looks and the fact that the clerk will probably demand I walk back and pick another movie.

While you're at it, invite some buddies over and come up with a Mr. Freeze drinking game for his corny lines.

Firstly thank you ken for a review of a game that enchanted my as a young lad,
For some reason I don't find the gameplay as good as i used to and that final boss always caused me too much trouble, but it still is one of the best "movie games" out there for me.....

    Regarding OFF topic,

Spiderman 1 & 2 are ok, but ultimately fast food garbage with little substance, 3 is a travesty for movie making, pure brain dead patriotic sludge,

Batman Begins is gritty and fantastic and Christian Bale is an amazing actor, a far superior movie imo and the best comic book movie ever made!

"It's like watching Runic stones by vikings here in Täby: not beautiful compared to Mona Lisa, but damn fine stuff for their time, as Phantasy Star II is, and that is why I enjoy it."

I don't get why Batman Begins was so well-received. A lot of critics disliked the two Tim Burton flicks because they were "too dark" and not kid-friendly enough. But the same things that were negatives for Batman Returns are considered positives for Batman Begins. WTF?

OT, I appreciate the innovation in Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin, but in terms of actual fun, it's kind of middlin'. I definitely prefer Maximum Carnage. I thought Spider-Man/X-Men was god-awful, and until reading this thread I wasn't aware anybody actually liked that game.

Same goes for me about Maximum Carnage, which is imho easily one of the 10 worst MD games ever.
