Sonic Stories from the Book of Genesis Vol. 20

Chances are, if you own a 32X you've went through your fair share of problems to get the darn thing hooked up. Imagine what it was like for those who purchased an incomplete system or one from another region. The extra cables, adapters, and metal shielding (did anyone actually even use those?) was enough to make many gamers pass the 32X over in favor of the shiny new 32-bit consoles. Some however, had faith and pushed on, eventually getting their little mushrooms to finally work. Staff writer Zebbe knows this all too well, and you can read about his experience in volume twenty of Stories from the Book of Genesis.

I have rarely had the 32X "hang up" on me. And when it does it always calls back. The 32X is built far better than the shitty Xbox360, which is one of the poorest consoles ever.

I remember I got my (original) 32X in 199? when I was a kid. It had to hook up with a MegaDrive I, which was quite an annoying choir.

There were no dead roaches in the cart slot, but rests of them inside the holes of the AC adaptor.

true,if you dont want to go lords of the dead ring, they even got a familiar name for they're problem well that says enough.Maybe the ps3 isn't the best but at least it has good graphics and works fine and Virtua fighter 5 looks so much better on ps3 believe me.

The biggest problem is all the ones being sold on EBAY and the sellers aren't clear to the fact it's missing the required video patch cable. If you didn't have one in the past you might not know you need such a cable. You see the power adapter and other things like the spacers and you figure your good to go. Even if it has the Model 2 patch cable you might have a Genesis model 1. Seller says it has the required video cable but you don't find out it doesn't work until you get it. I have seen 32X systems on EBay and they say it's "working and tested" and in the pic there is such a mess of games and wires it's hard to tell if the video patch cable is there or not! You assume if they tested it they have the cable... but nope! I ALMOST fell into that trap but asked the seller to be more clear on the fact it doesn't come with a required cable and he told me I was being "rude" when I simply stated the fact he should be more clear as it doesn't come with a cable. To many Ebay sellers get you by not telling the whole truth and yet not lying. I wish they would just be straight up and tell you the important facts!!!!

eh, once you get over the fact that its cool to have a 32X, its nothing to get excited for. unless you stumble upon a copy of web of fire. good story though!

EDIT: it was rather funny when I freaked out that i didnt have the metal shielding at first. lol.

It took me a few days but I finally got around to reading your piece zebbe and I certainly enjoyed it! Always great to hear someone with a similar experience, your article was very informative, especially to someone like me who intends to get a 32x at some stage, I will definitely be extremely cautious when I finally do get around to getting one... Good stuff...

    Thanks .

It is great to prevent people to do the same mistake I do. Make sure the seller provides enough information about the item(s) before ordering.

I don't know about that, honestly I think the system I had that broke the most was the big PS2 model. Mine broke twice and just about everyone I knew that had one, ended up breaking on them.

Man that sounded like a huge pain to go through and get that 32X completely set up. I usually don't hear people going through all that trouble just to get one with the cables and things. It seems confusing on what you need, depending on the specific model of the Genesis/Megadrive you have.
