Default Star Trek DS9: Crossroads of Time

SEGADATE: 2-14-08. We've encountered a copy of the Genesis game Star Trek: Crossroads of Time, featuring the crew of Deep Space Nine. Initial scans reveal that the game is mediocre at best, and our away team's finding seem to confirm this. I've sent our science officer, Lt. Commander Burr, to re-examine the game in order to ensure that there is no immediate danger to the crew or anyone else in Starfleet. You may read his findings here.

Wow, talk about obscure. Cheap as dirt online, but I'll be darned if I've seen a reference to it before today. Roll onward, Sega-16!

I remember renting this game for the SNES when I was like 10. I didn't get into the show until almost 10 years later. I always thought the game was confusing. The Next Generation game on snes/genesis is actually pretty good. The genesis version is better since you can save your game instead of using passwords (guess it's the blast processing!)

lol I'll have to check out the TNG game. I was a Star Trek fan but I never got into DS9 just TOS and TNG mainly.

The best way to complete an away mission in the TNG game:

    SEND IN THE DATA!!

Everyone else usually dies anyway, and Data kicks everyone's ass and isn't affected by poisonous fumes and such. Very good game overall.

I always thought that the TNG was alright, but not great. like a 7. It was always more fun to go around to random planets and beat the crap out of romulans to see how many ships you could kill before the enterprise was destroyed than it was to actually play the game. But then, like this one, i sat down and beat it. It was WAY better than the DS9 one, which was mostly irritating and not possible to beat without save states (at least for me).

BTW, I read the description, and I remember that I used to be in a star trek club, but i was the engineer! Ill take the promotion though! I left it because it was a role playing thing and not a discussion of weekly episodes, movies, etc. zzzzZZZZZZzzzz.

Why no Captain Kirk/Spock origional star trek games on genesis? I would have much rather played the origional series as those were my favorite, but the next generation wasn't too bad either.

There's the Starfleet Bridge simulator on 32X, but that's about it for the original series.

Wasn't there some Star Trek chess game or something? It was in the bar on DS9 or something like that... honestly nothing ever happened in the show so that's the only sort of 'game' I could see happening.

There's a Star Wars chess game for the Sega CD, and it is absolutely hilarious.

Deep Space Nine is actually a really good show. Not as good as Babylon 5 though. There are ALOT of similarities between the two shows:

There is another Ds9 game that is actually pretty good. it was a mod for the unreal engine. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Fallen.
But I think most would agree the best star trek game ever is probably ST Voyager: Elite Force.

Deep Space 9 is tosh. It never reached the awesome heights of The Next Generation, both in terms of series and video games. Even if TNG game is long, tedious and confusing, any game that allows you to be Picard is a joy. Sod off Deep Space 9 with your crappy acting and vomit worthy scripts.

First Contact is overrated. The original Star Trek movies were made better when Kirk started acting more like Picard. The Next Generation movies got worse because they attempted to make Picard act like Kirk. It is a well-known fact that Star Trek movies reached their pinnacle with the Undiscovered Country (and anybody who says otherwise is likely a member of the KKK, a Commie or the product of incestual parents). When the creators of Star Trek decided they wanted to reach out to "new fans" and not focus on what their current fans - in other words ignore everything that made the series good and do gay things, like give the evil Borg a Queen to reason with and try and seduce Data. Also, I don't want to see Picard stripped to a vest doing Commando shit - that's what Riker's there for. Picard should sit in his chair, being a man, being the brain of the ship and sending his underlings to their death. Sod off feeble and weak Borg give Star Trek back some real enemies (and we're not talking things like Species 8523092304924 from Voyager, which was another urination session upon the good Star Trek name).
