Whoa, man. If you don't mind, I'll pray for you. Hope it turns out to be nothing dangerous.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully whatever it is will be easily removable. That would suck to go through for a short amount of time, but it'd probably be better than living with it. Surgery is a weird experience.

It'll start becoming slightly less scary as you find out more about it and what can be done to fix it, though I doubt it will stop being scary until it is fixed and healed.

yea, i won't be done fearing until the lump is gone..

but knowing me, i'd worry about it coming back.

hopefully it's only a cyst or ingrown hair.. less harmful i think.

i already had an uncle die from cancer, so my worst fears are playing in my head..

It sounds like a cyst if its on your spine. Both my brother and and Grandfather got those. Good luck man.

if it's a cyst, how painful/hard is it to remove in surgery?

It could be a cebacious cyst, which isn't cancerous or anything. The doctor removes it in an out-patient procedure. In and out in a few hours. Hopefully that's what you've got.

You don't need to know. Talk to the doc first. I don't want to worry you.

OK that post right there sounds pretty scary.

How big is the lump? If it can be removed in an outpatient type of procedure, you may end up having a few stitches. That experience is kind of weird, but not painful. When they remove the stitches it almost tickles.

Yeah I would rather let the Doc do the scaring. I only know what I saw with my brother.

From what I've read, the vast majority of the time these lumps turn out to be nothing serious and hopefully everything will be sorted out pretty soon. It's the not knowing that's the biggest problem, as you always think it's the worst case scenario. Good luck to you, sir. I am sure all will be well soon.
