    Default Actually... (Sound issue)

Why does my console sound buzz at all!? I've read things about grounding issues and such...but I'm using the standard power supply. Is there any way to fix this?

I've made a recording, please listen. The first few seconds is me turning it on. The first loud buzzing you'll hear is directly after the TMSS screen...then it'll continue through the music and sound effects. When I play louder music, it drowns it out slightly, but it's still there.

Sorry for crappy internet upload site.

edit: whenever the screen changes, the intensity of buzzes seems to change as well.

Which model do you have? How did you record the audio?

Does it do this only when recording audio on the computer? Unplug the TV from the SEGA. Having the TV with a Computer can cause a ground loop.

It's a model 2. Doesn't matter how I output the sound, it still does that...I've only noticed that it seems quieter when using the SegaCD output instead of the Genesis output...but the Gen output is louder overall anyway.

I recorded through the SegaCD output to a mini-jack line-in on my computer.

I've tried combinations of TV + computer, computer only, and TV only. I've tried two different official Sega power supplies...no dice. I was actually thinking of using one of those magnetic filter things on the cord that goes from the supply to the genesis; maybe if lack of power cleanliness is causing the noise, that would fix it?

Hmmm...I've never come across a Genesis with that much noise (sounds like RF noise.) What kind of video connection do you use?

That's terrible. Do any of the HD model 1's have this buzz?

I know, but I'd rather have something barely audible than a loud BZZZ when it gets quiet. I've been ignoring it, but it's very bad.
