    Whoa Time Killers

We're back, after some technical difficulties, and we know you've missed us! To reward your loyalty, we bring you a review of that most awesome of Genesis fighters - Time Killers! You loved it in arcades! You clamored for a home port, and here it is! If anything, it's a perfect example of being careful of what you wish for. What? You mean you didn't want this turd on the Genesis? Ah well, in that case you have our condolences, as well as a nice full review of the game. Enjoy! (snicker)

Great review I couldn't really find anything about this game before I bought it, hence me paying a whole £10 for it - should've known there was a reason the Queen looked even smugger than usual when I handed it over...

Agree entirely about the random button-mashing thing, it's very annoying - but still, there are many terrible beat-em-ups on the MD. And I don't know, maybe if it had a little more character I'd've found the game somewhat entertaining. Maybe if it played better. Maybe if there was... something. But it's like one of those movies that's so bad, it's not even funny.

Never played the Genesis game, but the arcade one was funny in its own way. I have to object to the review calling it a Mortal Kombat ripoff seeing as Time Killers predates it. Time Killers design was based onthe Black Knight sketch in Monty Python's Holy Grail. That was the team's inspiration for all the limb hacking and gore -- not Mortal Kombat.

I never actually played this before, but when you called it the worst fighter for the Genesis I had to try it.

It's worse than Rise of the Robots! And Fighting Masters! Damn.

    Oh, and:

If a game gets released into a market and there's no one around to buy it, does it make a sound? Only if it sucks, my friends. Hard.

I just found a new reason to respect you!

Should reviews that were submitted over the past 10 days be resubmitted? I sent in a review for Jeopardy (Sega CD) about a week ago. Hope those technical problems have been fleshed out.

I got your review and should have it back to you in a day or two. I've been prepping some articles now that the DB is fixed, so I'm a bit behind.

A lot of crappy games are being reviewed lately... A few more and visitors
new to Sega Genesis might think most games suck When will there be
    more reviews on good games?

Oh come on! The game's not that bad. Sure, it's rubbish, but it's good rubbish!

I used to rent it from my local video rental store - and I feel in love with it. There I said it.

One question: is this game worse than Pit Fighter?

Great review Nick, and thanks for the reference . I was actually wondering if I was playing Lunar: the Silver Star on the Sega CD when I picked Leif (which is pronunced "Lay-f", not "Life" (yeah, I blame the developers, not you)) since his beard was of different colour on the avatar compared to in battle, just like Laike's. I found the Odin special move to be the only great thing about the game, partly because it was a reference to my culture and partly because it made me win one round.

Yeah, as far as I know it was 1996. But thanks for the kind words, guys. (I love you too, Vinny. )

How so? The arcade game came out a few months after MK1. (I thought.)

Don't tell me that Deadly Moves is better than this game!
One question: is this game worse than Pit Fighter?
Yes to both. BTW, Zebbe, is it really 'Lay-f'? I thought it was more like 'leaf'... You would know, I guess.
