    ^The Sega Genesis version of it has a very narrow range. You really need to be pointing directly at it for it to work.

    I got a book in the mail the other day that I ordered off Ebay. It was a Science Fiction Omnibus of short stories published in 1980. Many of the stories were much older than that. In it there was a story by James Blish called "The Box". It was basically about a man waking up one morning and finding a giant dome of energy covering a large portion of New York where he lived. The story dealt with people doing crazy shit to survive and the protagonist trying to find a way to remove the dome before all the oxygen runs out and a build up of ozone kills them all.
