RGB Mega Drive 2

hey folks, some of you may have seen in another thread that i'm going to try an upscale of sorts from my old consoles.

upon receiving an RGB cable for my mega drive 2 this morning i thought i'd look at the quality of the video direct to the 32" sammy.

upon hooking all up and starting a game (sonic 2/streets of rage 2) i found that the signal from the cable was erreatic to say the least. i'm aware the tv adjusts istelf to an RGB signal (as is visible for a couple of seconds when i switch the saturn on) but the MD audio and video wavered, flickered and cut out and back in constantly.

the port is free of dust and i tried the cable in two scarts on the tv and through a switch bos woith the same result.

so i pugged the (gasp!) RF back in and the signal came through fine.

i'm guessing that i've got a bad cable but just wandered if anyone here knows of any reason the signal would break up so badly before i ask the ebay dude for another cable?

I do think its bad cable... sounds kinda like bad ground
