    Sonic Air Diver

Take to the skies and fight terrorists in your F-119 Stealth Fighter! Barrel roll to dodge incoming fire as you fight your away towards... um... massive alien spaceships? Yes, Seismic's Air Diver is a game whose plot isn't really worth mulling over, so perhaps it's better that you just grab your controller and play. That way, you can concentrate on the totally average gameplay, or maybe you should plug in a copy of Afterburner II. Go ahead, I'll wait. Oh, you're still here? Then why not read our full review of Air Diver? Don't say I didn't warn you.

I like Air Diver. However at the same time I can see why many think it is so boring. You have to marvel in awe at the amazing scaling whenever your ship blows up.

    Much better game than Budokan.

I used to play Budokan by just standing still and twirling my nunchuks. The AI would always just walk into them and die.

Air Diver is smarter than that, therefore it is better.

I have been this disappointed since I first tried Fruit Stripe gum.

    "Ooh! Fruit Stripe Gum!"

    *chews*

    "Aww.."

Seriously, when I bought this game I looked at the box in a bit of awe. Then, I thought "why have i never heard of this game?" Then I popped it in and realized the millions of irritating things, like the cockpit getting in the way of the gameplay, the way overhyped stuff between missions (its not even funny like in CrossFire), the bland "Green ground, blue sky" and the six enemies that you come across. Ive only ever beat the first level once.

Ain't this one of the first-ever third-party games for the Genesis?

Also, trekbone, who was that crudely-drawn, bandana-clad guy who was last on your avatar. Honestly, I couldn't help but LOL at that and the EASN sportscaster guy.

I need a damn avatar.........dunno how to make one though.

    WTF

    Air Diver is indeed disappointing.
Repetitive, and if one has the guts to go past the shallow learning curve then reaching the ending is not that hard at all.

I share trekbone87's opinion about the Genesis cover art.
At least this aspect of the game is really cool!

lol. The fruit stripe gum bit was from a recent episode of family guy. My humor is hopeless without that shows oscar award winning one liners. Its pretty difficult to quote seinfeld. I like seinfeld alot as well.

That bandana clad guy was one of the stock "Road Rash" photo guys they had as a avatar choice. But I figured I needed something that suited my personality better. (Overweight college kid with a miserable diet!)

You liked grandpa? I liked grandpa. Turns out he was on College Football's National Championship as well, but i forgot to mention it because the Joe Montana Sports Talk Football Side-Scrolling football view elicits mass hysteria and rage, and I forgot.

Now, me being the local sports guru must clear up the fact that grandpa is in fact NOT the EASN guy, that guy was/is Ron Barr. Ron Barr was a 16-bit EA Sports staple! NHL 95 anyone? I remember watching the NHL 94 CD videos where he actually talked for the first time. It was music upon my ears. Im kidding, of course, but seriously, Ron Barr is/was very important to the 16 bit sports genre!

AND THIS IS AN AIR DIVER REVIEW! HUZZAH! lol

Developed by Copya System. Later came Super Air Diver and Super Air Diver 2 for the Super Famicom (here's a guy who worked for Copya System and worked on SAD2).

Another game on the collection cart.

Very crap, I don't like it.
