It should, since the Turbo supplies direct audio out to the CD interface unit. However the mod would not apply to any sound made by the CD (either redbook audio or ADPCM).Originally Posted by Ace

Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.

I'll do samples and stuff, and "smoking" as in "in progress", like how bonfire is made, first you have lot of smoke, then fire (and lot of smoke, particulary when burning tires :P).
The TGCD gets its sound from the back connector and its affected also by the mod so things should work fine since there won't be any signal level differences.
I wanna pick up a TGCD with bad caps(so it'd be cheap, hopefully) sometime...

That might be tough, though not impossible. I haven't heard of many TGCDs with bad caps. They're fairly robust. The Duos (especially the US versions) can have bad caps, though. I have heard that the TurboExpress can also have bad caps. But then again I am not the TurboGrafx capacitor authority.Originally Posted by TmEE
Oooh, be careful with the TurboGrafx CD, TmEE! They suffer from a problem much worse than bad capacitors: a broken gear. And the problem is: unless you mold a gear yourself, you can't fix a TurboGrafx CD with a broken gear unless you get a KSS-220a CD mechanism and Dremel the shit out of the TurboGrafx CD case and the KSS-220a itself.

That would be PC Engine FX. It's from them that I found out about the bad gear problem in the TurboGrafx CD, the leaky capacitors in the TurboDuo/TurboExpress, and I became a member(under the same username as here on Sega-16) to ask about a weird problem I was having with my TurboGrafx CD Interface Unit(happened to be because I was using a power supply with a grounding pin). You should go there for anything TurboGrafx/PC Engine-related; they're VERY helpful.
Now, I did see a TurboGrafx CD capacitor replacement chart, so there may be a few instances of dead capacitors, though they don't seem to be as rampant as with the TurboDuo and TurboExpress(my TurboGrafx CD's caps are all intact, both on the CD-ROM drive and the Interface Unit).

I have news for you, after all this TG/PCE talk i decided to hook my PCE SCD2 for some Valis action, soon as i started to play i felt something was wrong with the audio coming out of my Super CDrom 2, ( the cd music was at lower volume as usual and i hear some noise too) so i unplug the A/V cable from the cd unit and hooked it directly to the Coregrafx A/V port and the audio quality improved, so it seems that i have dead caps on my SCD Rom2, and is a fact that not only Duos suffer from this, a friend of mine have an old PCE+CDrom2 and he had the same problem until he got all the caps from his cdrom unit replaced.
Sometimes on my TurboGrafx CD, the gears will skip teeth, at least that's what it sounds like it happening. This only happens when it is seeking and is pretty rare. It has been doing this decades.
Skull Monkeys for PS1. $3. Very odd game. Seems to be worth the 3 bucks.
Finally got around to making a Japanese PSN account so I can get some of the great Playstation titles for download. Here's my latest digital download haul:
Contra Rebirth
Brave Story
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Bomberman 94
Raiden
Gunners Heaven
The Adventure of Little Ralph

Oooo Gunner's Heaven! I've always wanted to try that.
All the games are in Japanese but some feature English text in them, so it's pretty easy to navigate around the menus. There are no Playstation games playable on the Wii, only on the PS3 and PSP.
If you got a PS3, just follow this guide on how to make a Japanese PSN account: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthre...twork+japanese, and you can get Japanese PSN point cards here: http://www.shopncsx.com/
