Wait, I thought the arcade R-Type's aspect ratio was like Capcom's CPS-1 aspect ratio. Check out the arcade pics here: http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/rtype/rtype.htm . Besides, the graphics aren't blurry when zoomed to 16:9 (like the Gradius and Parodius collections on PSP), R-Types stays pretty sharp.

Only drawback is, alles too damd expensiv for me.

I've not bought anything else, just felt like blah-ing.
Don't have any retro-gaming stores in my neck of the woods, so you're pretty lucky. I swear Maryland sucks when it comes to retro-gaming stores (unless I'm not looking hard enough)! It's pretty much ebay or japangamestock.com when buying anything import retro.

They use non-square pixels. All of those older arcade games had a 4:3 screen. I guess if stretching it to 16:9 is the only way R-Type looks good on a PSP, then playing R-Type on the PSP sucks ass. I don't like it when circles become ovals.

I've been playing Mario with just the wheel and I'm totally digging it. Played a couple of matches online and there were plenty of folks to race against. The connection was smooth and I only noticed a couple of instances of warping.

Arriving home from college, eargerly awaiting to check the mail, I spot a large(ish) box... Grand Theft Auto IV: Special Edition for XBOX 360, mwhahahaha.

Positive: Its totally awesome and one of the best games ever!!!

Negative: No major new game release i'm interested in until Soul Calibur IV and Pier Solar. At least this christmas will be fun with Sonic Unleashed and Gears Of War 2.

I found out that a local GameCrazy still had a box of "classic plastic" stuff, and that any stores that had "classic plastic" left were doing a 5 for $5 sale on their remaining stock. So on Tuesday, I went and checked it out. As expected, most of what was left was sports titles, but I still found some decent stuff. All cart only:

    Genesis:
    Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday
    Eternal Champions
    James Pond II
Tecmo Super Bowl II: Special Edition

    Game Boy:
    Blades of Steel

My other finds at other places:

    Genesis:
    Shining Force (complete) - $6.99

    Game Gear:
Castle of Illusion (cart only) - $2.50
The Lion King (cart only) - $1.50

    NES:
    Wolverine (cart only) - $2.50

    SNES:
Primal Rage (cart only) - $2.99
Wing Commander: The Secret Missions (cart only) - $2.50

    PlayStation:
Final Fantasy VIII (complete, GH) - $3.99

    N64:
Jet Force Gemini (cart only) - $2.50

    GBA e-reader:
    Donkey Kong-e (new) - $2.99
