Late, but if you've never played it, you're in for a treat. One of the finest RPGs ever, and it blows the PSX version away.

Eternal Blue's much harder(this is a good thing IMO), and has a much larger overworld map, dungeons, and an awesome boss that was removed from Complete for reasons that're beyond me.

I've played and beaten both the PS versions and the original Sega CD Lunar. The PS version of Lunar was far better than the Sega CD version, which disappointed me. The Sega CD version of Lunar II doesn't seem to disappoint me. How come you like it more than the PS version?

Not as many reasons as why I like Lunar I for Sega CD more(tons of changes to the story, easier difficulty), but EB still has its benefits.

-Zophar looks much cooler(and he's also far more difficult)
-The Star Dragon Guardian (a removed boss that attacks Hiro's group at key points throughout the game)
-Much larger map & dungeons (And there's more of them)

The 'pay to save' system and random battles might wind up driving you nuts, on a down note.

Beyond that, they're closer to being pretty much alike than Silver Star and Complete, but when you compare the two Sega CD Lunars, it was like night and day(I first played EB when it came out). Everyone had voice acting, lots more cutscenes, etc.

The two Completes don't really have much difference between them, compared to the originals.

Great deal, I was addicted to this game a few months back. I was even starting to talk like a pirate. Any situation I got into I would ask myself, what would a pirate do?

It is fun it killed a good hour for me after I got off work. I need to download the manual and map for it to get the full experience but I think it might be another game to add to my trade pile for when I seek out a copy of M.U.S.H.A.

I also enjoyed the story and easier difficulty more on Silver Star, but the weird character design (green beard on sprite and orange on avatar?) and piss-poor magic system were just two of the many things that I didn't like. Eternal Blue seems so far to be as good as it can get on a 16-bit console to me. With the retardo pay to save system neglected ofcourse.

Phrased that badly; the original Silver Star is way more difficult, but I like that about it.

As for the magic system, yeah, that was bad. No good having 30 odd spells(like Mia does) if you have no idea what any of them do. One of the few changes in Complete I welcomed.

Also, they removed the final boss of Silver Star's true final form in Complete(which was originally a demonic beast of some kind), and basically just made him look like he did in Eternal Blue.

Yeah... Read somewhere that it was a typical anime cliché at the time, so that's why they removed it. Quite a wise decision to me, final bosses with their millions of forms are so tiring.

The "pay to save" never once got in the way of anything for me. I thought it would suck but it was basically a non-issue and I didn't even notice it was there.

What they wrote about it in the manual was hilarious: "To avoid unnecessary setbacks, save frequently - but not so much that you waste Magic Experience. Remember, save is your friend!"

The friend you have to pay if you want his help.
