Sounds great! Thanks!
Sounds great! Thanks!
Ken, I finished my Sega Ages article for John Madden Football, but I'm not sure I submitted it properly. Wasn't there a certain type of dashboard or something that I had to go to? I can't remember, sorry man(This is my first writeup since the hack). I sent it through the Contact Us deal, please let me know if I did it wrong, or if you have not received it.
Also, I wasn't sure about screen shots, or if the article even falls under the Sega Ages format(we don't have any of the old ones posted yet for me to check). So feel free to format it as neccessary. If you wan't me to take care of the screen shots, please just let me know how you would prefer them to be submitted. You didn't use my screenshots for Madden 96, which led me to believe that I didn't submit them properly.
P.S. quick shout out to Ken for going through the painstaking task of reposting all of our old articles and reviews after the hack. Much appreciated Ken! If I knew how to help out in any way, I would.
As for my next Sega-16 project, I think it's time for something other than football. I'm working on a Hands On for R Type(SMS). Then I would very much like to review NFL 95, and Muhamed Ali Boxing later this year(I started Ali way back, but my cartridge stopped working, I don't like emulation for reviews, I have another coming in the mail). I also plan on jumping back into the Reader Roundtable possibly next month.
*****EDIT***** Ken, I revised my article and sent it to you. Please disregard the first version.

This thread needs more.....I don't play old stuff for nostalgia, I play old stuff because the games are better.

Best way to submit something is to send it to Ken's E-mail: Ken@Sega-16.com

Hi all,
Has anyone done a review of Zool yet? If not, can I volunteer?
Zool hasn't been reviewed yet, so if you want to review it, feel free! You can simply write up a review of the game and send it over to our Editor-In-Chief Melf.
Here's a page if you're looking for more info on Contributing to the site.

And don't forget to read over the review manifest for what each number score basically means.
Currently Reviewing: Steel Talons
Coming Up:TF3 Side by Side, Gods
Done: RDF Global Conflict
I just handed in my review for IMG international Tour Tennis so expect that soon and then it's off to try to get some other reviews done, schedule permitting.
I want to let all of you readers know that we are really in need of more reviews. You all may know already by only seeing one review a week for the last month or so. It means that the queue is empty and there's not enough being submitted as most of our staff is very busy with life lately. If any of you see or know of a game that hasn't been reviewed yet and want to get the creative juices flowing then feel free to review a game for us. We can answer all of your questions here in this thread. Don't worry we don't bite. We also wouldn't even mind endless sports games if need be too so feel free to write whatever isn't covered yet!
Melf, did you get my last PM?
Also I'd like to know if the following games have been taken already (or maybe aren't uploaded yet):
Darwin 4081
Heavy Unit
Magic Girl
Mega SWIV
Xenon 2 Megablast
I can do them, it's going to be a pleasure to give Xenon 2 its just deserts.
Do them Kollision, they'd make great editions to the site.
OK. I know I've been pretty silent review-wise, but I just wanted to say that after having a number of things crop up, the reviewing is back on track. I'll be getting Wolfchild to you this weekend, and Novastorm by the following weekend.
Just wanted to let you know I hadn't forgotten.

I for one look forward to more reviews by The Coop! And also, to this:
I've been playing through WarpSpeed lately, and am curious as to how the review will go. The game is deeply flawed, probably fatally so -- the slow speed of your shots is aggravating at best -- but in a weird way, it's kind of relaxing to zone out with it for a couple hours.
I've seen it compared to Wing Commander and I'm sure it fares badly. But if you approach it with an early '80s Atari mindset -- Star Raiders, Starmaster, that kind of thing -- it's not so bad, and the fact that it's so simple isn't necessarily a detriment. Then again I have a super-high tolerance for certain kinds of crap games, so YMMV (I know The Coop hates this one).
The Umbrellahead Review: where the movies are B and the packages large.
Thanks everyone! I look forward to reading them.
I spent some time with a real odd one; Aworg: Hero of the Sky. It's a game that was only released in Japan for the TeleNet modem, and while it's not great, it's actually a fun little maze/puzzler. Look for the review on Monday.
1.) It's 'Hero In The Sky'.
2.) It's also included in the 'Sega Games Can Vol. 2' compilation for the Japanese Mega-CD.
Yeah, it's "in" and not "of," although that link you posted says "on."![]()
