Default Sega Genesis 3 - Sega 32X system compatibility fix found

The lastest/smallest of the Sega Genesis systems, the Genesis 3, is well known to be incompatible with the 32X system, some games such as Virtua Racing, the Game Genie and the Sega Master System converter.....I have been able to found the missing connections to give these capabilities back to the Genesis 3 ....
It now plays great all Sega Genesis games, 32X games, other plug-in devices and 90% of the SMS collection using the converter.....

I like to give a couple of shout outs to Ace and TmEE..........While attempting to make his Genesis 3 system compatible ,Ace almost fried his Genny....

Good work. Could you show a pic of that Mushroom and Hockey Puck together?
Got Pier Solar? Good. Please post a comment here.

I sure hope pin B19 on the cartridge slot isn't hooked up directly on the ASIC. Usually, when I do that, it never results in anything good.

Now that's a mushroom... No doubts... Good job ooXxXoo. I want a genesis 3 but not to mod. Just for "loving" the genesis "end of the line". When I can get a Nomad and a genesis 3 (rare in europe) my Sega experience becomes full circle...

The 32x... make the MD3 look tiny. Really. Really. Tiny.

Now, I have another issue other than sparks: loss of sound(except FM R). I wonder if I can solder in a full-size Yamaha YM2612 and Zilog Z80 at least get FM back. Loss of PSG doesn't bother me. I won't be making my VA2 Genesis 3 Master System-compatible anyways. But here's the worst part: the PINS on the 315-6123 that output FM L and PSG are BROKEN! I won't ever get PSG back, but at least, maybe with a full-size YM2612 and Z80, I can at least restore FM. It'll sound like my Gen-X, with PSG so silent, FM overpowers it to the point where I can only hear FM. I can handle it, except I'll never play Thunder Force IV on that Genesis.

    Aw, crap, more problems:

-No more color in the image
-Loss of video sync(sometimes complete loss of output)
-Consistent switching to 50Hz(I DON'T WANT THIS!!!!)

Now the damn thing stays in 50Hz, IT HAS TO BE IN 60!!!!!

Oh, great, now the VIDEO ENCODER is shot! I CAN'T HANDLE THIS THING!!! I'm leaving it on the side... FOR GOOD!!! I'm gonna get myself another one, and I will NEVER TAKE A SOLDERING IRON TO IT!!! I'm F-ing pissed off now!

And it's dead. I don't know how this happened, but I cut the !CART_IN pin WITHOUT REALIZING IT UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE! I need a new one, and this time, it'd better be a VA1.

So the Genesis 3 plays Gargoyles and Cliffhanger now also?
The smell of scorched oil hangs in the air as a premonition of danger, while the engine gloriously shouts its war cry...

Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.
