Well, I did it, I just ordered The Amazing adventures of Kavalier and Clay. Let's see how this one turns out to be.
Also, my copy of Watchmen arrived in the mail today! (YAY!!!) Finally! I've known it for years, but somehow I had never gotten round to actually buy it.
In terms of non-fiction, I'm currently reading Der Aufmacher ("Lead Story") and Zeugen der Anklage ("Witnesses for the Prosecution") by German undercover journalist Günter Wallraff, where he analyzes and deconstructs his own experience while working undercover at Germany's biggest tabloid newspaper. It's an amazing, and at times somewhat frightening read about the level of contempt these papers have towards their very own readership. Highly recommendable!

I actually just got my copy of Watchmen back this morningGreat read, the movie's making me nervous though.
Unfortunately, I think I'm not going to be able to read anything I want to read for about five months. School's crazy this semester, and I'll be reading around 300 pages each week from three different novels/texts. So... hooray!
I'm not really a reader. Every couple months I try to reread one of my favorites though, Shogun, Shibumi, The Fountainhead, Dune etc... I recently got into Tai Pan but only finished the first book so far. Damn good read.
For some reason I read a whole 600+ pages book in like two days and then don't read for months.

You're 15 and i'm 16, the shit we have to read doesnt even compare to college plus with our lowered academic standards, you should have zero problem with school.
Have made a second attempt at the book "The Terror" by Dan Simmons, dragged on too much so I put it down, now I`m curious again so will give it a second chance!
Update: Am still reading Moby Dick, am now on chapter 88 and have about 200 pages to go. It is one of the most tedious things I have ever read and instead of being entirely plot driven, which might have been interesting, Melville goes on for entire chapters describing the tails of Sperm Whales. I WILL FINISH THIS BLOODY BOOK BY 2010!
Im currently reading The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. Think im on the 4th book atm, so I got some left :P Theres 11 books out and the last one is being written atm.
If your'e in to fantasy and havent read this, you've missed out. As one of the quotes on one of the covers say:
"Jordan is completing what tolkien started"
It really whippes the rings ass.
I may be wrong here, but isn't Robert Jordan dead? I've heard from a few people that like the first 5 or 6 Wheel of Time books are fantastic, and each one after gets steadily worse.
True. Brandon Sanderson is completing the last book, with help from Harriet McDougal, Jordans wife.
I've heard that aswell. Hope its not true though. My brother and my friend have read them and they don't seem to think so atleast.
Has anyone here read Brandon Sanderson? He has a couple of trilogies out, and I'm always up for new reading. Just want to know how good he is.
When I read, usually it's a Stephen King book. Right now I'm reading the fifth book in the Dark Tower series, Wolves of the Calla.
