Default How would I go about trading my 360 for a PS3?

I have had a 20 gig Xbox 360 (or rather 3 due to me having to send them in to get them repaired) for slightly less than two years and have decided that it isn't my "cup of tea".

How would I go trading it in for a PS3? Should I delete my Xbox profile off of the HDD before I sell it? Or would that make it so the guy who I'm selling to can't access some of the Xbox live arcade games that I downloaded?

How much should I sell it for if I include:
    Cords
Two Controllers (one wireless, one wired)
    Two Headsets.
    Xbox Live Vision Camera
    Viva Pinata
    Forza MotorSport 2
Gears of War 2: LE (no download codes, I bought it used so there were none to begin with)
    Halo
    Halo 2
    Halo 3
    The Orange Box
    Shenmue 2
    Jet Set Radio Future/Sega GT

You'd be lucky to get $300 for the package. Especially since the 60gig model is only $300 by itself.

Well if your going the GameStop route, I could get you a fairly exact quote in when I go to work tomorrow. You might be able to get $300 on craigslist or something for it all, but that may prove to be more hassle than its worth in case the system red-ring's soon and the new owner comes back to you for money or whatever. I believe there is a $40 trade in bonus if you trade the in the 360, so that helps. If you end up trading it in don't worry about swiping the hard drive as GameStop will send the HDD out anyways to get it swiped.

If you want an estimate, let me know it shouldn't be a problem.

EDIT: Do they even have GameStop's in Canada?

No but they have EBgames up here, they're the same company though right?

At this point our dollar is about 10% lower than the US one.

If the 360 wasn't your cup of tea then neither will the PS3 be, they're very similar consoles with very similar types of games (except in the PS3's case it just has less of them)

This gen isn't really very good for anyone who likes original or quirky games, The PS3 and 360 are basically just populated by 1st and 3rd person shooters, theres a handful of interesting games on the Wii but not really enough games overall to make that a particularly impressive console either.

One thing I will say though, have you tried out any of the downloadable games? all three consoles have hefty amounts of interesting downloadable stuff.

Even though the PS3 has a ton of shooters, just like the Xbox 360, it has more games like Little Big Planet, Drakes Fortune, and Ratchet and Clank. A lot of the upcoming games that I'm looking forward to, like Beyond Good And Evil 2 and Street Fighter IV are coming out on both the 360 and the PS3 anyways. Plus I like the DualShock playing 2d games and fighting games a lot better than the 360's controller.

I don't know what you mean by "more games like little big planet" I mean, the PS3 has around 10 good exclusives including the games you just mentioned, and many of those would fit into the overpopulated shooter genre, also I don't really understand how Ratchet and Clank, a run-of-the-mill 3d platformer could help differentiate the two libraries, there are many such games on the 360,

I could see how Little Big Planet and to a lesser extent Uncharted (cool climbing elements) could be different from what you would experience on 360 but thats only two games.

Why sell it for PS3? Just keep it and be happy. Whats the difference between the two?

Seeing as it's not my money we're talking about here, my advice is for you to wait a while, trade in the games you don't want and buy both, then you get the best of both worlds

You can always go with the Playstation 2...just my opinion. The Slims are really nice systems. I love how easy they are to take along with you for whatever reason. I have a white one i use and keep my fat one in box

I bought one of those a while ago. I have to say they are rather nice.
