    Default Intellivision

I recently got an intellivision and a handful of games for free off a friend.
Games complete in boxes with controller inlays and everything, kickass deal, he said it works fine,as it was in an attic or somthing for decades.

The only thing missing is the RF connection, and I know that the old atari ones work, problem is i don't have one anymore, i lost them all along with my gemini controllers

I guess my question is if this console is worth going out of my way to buy the parts for it? My atari collection is collecting dust as well, but my modded xbox handles that for me.

Any love for the Intellivision around here?

I never had one, but I was always curious. My dad bought us a ColecoVision instead so I was enthralled with that.

You can get an RF switch cheap at Radio Shack. It'd be worth it, I guess. What games did you get?

Donkey kong, astrosmash, space hawk, space armada, and poker/blackjack.

The fact that im looking at a nintendo game for a system not made by nintendo is pretty cool.

I never had one, but it's a good system. A lot of interesting, conceptual games on it.

That's a decent Intellivision sampler you came upon, Knuckle Duster.

Astrosmash's pretty cool.. it's a more frantic twist on Space Invaders, what with all kinds of deadly crap falling from the sky at you.

Intellivision Donkey Kong is an okay port.. Colecovision Donkey Kong is way better, but compared to Atari 2600 Donkey Kong, it's about on par I suppose.

Space Armada's pretty much a shameless Space Invaders clone with some shaky collision detection.

Space Hawk plays similarly to Asteroids, only you're some random dude drifting around in space shooting bubbles at strange bird-like creatures while they return fire with their own space bubblage. Pretty fun.

    Poker/Blackjack.. well, it's about what you'd expect.

Still, very cool find, Knuckle Duster. If you manage to come across an Intellivoice in your travels, you're in for some amusement.

Find Nightstalker and Burgertime if you can...I had hours of fun with those two as a little guy.
