    Default Space Harrier (32X)

Considered the best version available until the Sega Ages Collection was released on Saturn, Space Harrier is reason alone to own a 32X. Read the review to find out why.

I like the way you review, all the pros and cons are covered including things that I don't even think of. Space Harrier 32X is no exception, thanks for bringing to light an overlooked classic

What a great game. I've been playing this a lot since I got my 32x. Is Space Harrier 2 on Genesis just as fun? I was thinking about getting it, but it seems a lot of people were disappointing with it.

It's ok and that's about it.

The original Space Harrier is a huge step over the second in the series, way more fun to play and it's quite simple too.

Space Harrier - so great it's enough of a reason to buy a 32X!

Edit: Oh, Melf wrote the same in the review presentation. :P

I like this version as well, but I just don't understand why this version's display is letterboxed? After Burner on the 32X was full screen, but somehow Space Harrier 32X was not...

The first Space Harrier came first, in arcades. And that's pretty much exactly what's on 32x. You mean Space Harrier 2 is a huge step down then?

Apparently. I never much liked Space Harrier 2, but I always wanted that "GETREADY!" sound to be my text message sound.

I kept renting it when I was younger thinking it was fun, but meh.

I can't find this game anywhere. Granted, I'm not really looking all that hard.

This game is actually one of the more common 32x games out there. I can't seem to find After Burner myself :/

All they have around these parts is Cosmc (get the McKids Reference?) Carnage and Doom. I swipe them up whenever I can, even though my crush on the 32X is way over and we are struggling to remain friends.

I'm seriously going to write some comedy about the story of the Genesis and it's add-ons, right after I'm done derailing this conversation.

If you play this version and then fire up SH2, your jaw will drop at how choppy SH2 is.

I owed this version and the Saturn version at the same time (briefly actually). All I can say is that visually, this game is almost the same as the Saturn version (probably 97% the same).

If anyone is interested, the Wii's Virtual Console has the original arcade version of this game, plus it has extra options like customizable auto fire and the ability to use the nunchuck as an arcade stick.

Arcade perfect....but that's not really saying much.
At that point, most people just didn't give a damn about these old games.
Not a good way of promoting a 32-bit machine.
