heart Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse

Most people like Mickey Mouse. We've all grown up with him, seen his cartoons, played with the toys, gone to Disney World, etc. The little mouse seems to get the star treatment wherever he goes. Heck, he hasn't even had to make a movie in years, given his popularity (although the Three Musketeers will change that). Sadly, Mickey hasn't had as much success in the gaming industry as he's had in cinema and television. From turds like Mickey Mousecapades and Fantasia, to snore fests like Disney's Magical Mirror, he's pretty much been hit-and-miss when it comes to games.

This was the first Genesis game I ever rented and also the first one I sought out when I began re-collecting. I think seeing the screenshots for this game in GamePro magazine was one of the reasons I wanted a Genesis to begin with

My friend wisely bought Castle of Illusion when it was new instead of Fatal Labyrinth despite being about $20 dollars more. He was an Rpg nut at the time but managed to dodge a bullet there. It was so impressive at the time.

I love this game... its my only Mega Drive game (I live in Canada and was stoked to find it for sale with a bunch on Genny games one day) and it works on all Genesis systems I guess it predates Sega lockout.

This is a great game for bother the younger audience and casual games alike.

It is really colourful, it has great music, it has plenty of variety of envorinments and nice bosses.

This was one of my most favorite non-Sonic games available for my Megadrive when I was younger.

easily one of my favorite genesis games. I've seen some people claiming it's too easy, but I've yet to beat the game on hard mode. So much challenge, and it keeps me coming back for more. great game and review!

I was actually very impressed with the SMS version. I also played the GG version a long time ago, but remember very little about it. Was it a direct port of the SMS game or was it a watered-down version of the Genesis game?

    Anyone know/remember?

Is it true the Genesis and Mega Drive versions are different? Someone told me the other day the Genesis version was drastically different from my MD version. Doesn't seem right to me.
