    spiderman Hard Drivin'

When you think "racing game," you tend to think of blinding speed and screeching tires. Few people, if any, would think of loop-de-loops and... cows? Yes, the latter can only bring one racer to mind - that of Atari's Hard Drivin', which received a Genesis port by Tengen. Was the game too much for the stock console to handle, or was the old black box capable of reproducing a true driving simulator? You'll have to read our full review to find out, but please, watch out for the cows!

I get the premise of this game, I get what the game wanted to be, but there was just no way to produce that on a Genesis realistically and have it be any fun at all.

This is what I think of the game: Top 10 box art for a Bottom 10 game.

    That gives me an idea.

Yeah, but this game was pretty bad. I'd have given this one a 2 or even a 1 if i looked at it Hard enough. Get the pun?

I remember playing this game and crashing a lot, which was the most fun you could get from the game. I thought maybe it was just the port that really sucked, as I'd never bothered to play the arcade version.

Fast Forward to the release of "Midway Arcade Treasures" and the arcade version was on one of them, and the arcade version was pretty mediocre too.

I absolutely loved the arcade version. However I am looking at it through rose-colored glasses, it has been 15 years since I played it. I know it will suck, but I think I will pick it up.

Don't, its horrible. The arcade version rocked, but every port was downright horrible.

Great Review! This game was one of my first for the genesis and in my youth I could withstand a lot more punishment from bad games so I logged a lot of hours on this one. Crappy game? Sure, but its a fun run down nostalgia road. I also need to play this again

Hard Drivin' was how I learned how to drive stick shift.
    Seriously.
What's funnier: one (the only) friend who used to frequent arcades with me was riding in my car a few months ago, and even commented "You learned to drive stick from that old Atari game didn't you."
He started laughing, and continued that I shift just like I used to when I was 15 years old playing Hard Drivin'.

The arcade version is the only decent version, but the Genesis version is the best of the home ports. By far. Except the PS2 version which is arcade perfect...

Best review. I laughed my ass off. It actually made me want to buy the game to make fun of it.

I rented this one a lot for the "so bad it's funny" factor. Seriously. I played this again and again just to crash and run over the cow while I laughed my ass off. Still play it once or twice a year to get my share of road accidents.
