Default Sega playing Mac owners rejoice!

    http://www.eidolons-inn.net/tiki-index.php?page=kega

    WE FINALLY GOT FUSION!!!!

    YES, THAT'S RIGHT!

All the greatness of the PC version except for Sega CD compatibility. Allegedly its compatible with Sega CD games in the bin/cue format, but the one game I had like that (road rash) didn't boot. I think he's going to add iso/cue format soon though. Until then, at least we have 100% Genesis/32X compatibility and the most accurate emulator around. See ya later POS Genesis Plus. Granted, this isn't that huge for me since I've been using the PC version in Parallels since I got this Intel Mac, but, its nice to boot it about 2 minutes faster than if I had to start up XP first.

of course, we all would, but its the best way to play games you haven't been able to track down in the price/condition you want yet, especially import games. Its also good if a particular part of a game is giving you trouble and you want some save state help.

Just give it time and he will have it ready to go for Sega CD. That's amazing.

I loathe Mac's and the Apple Corp... but good to see you guys can now enjoy it.

well, you can play Sega CD now with the buggy port of Gens, but I'll just boot into XP if I really want to play a Sega CD game, but I have pretty much every Sega CD game I want to play so I would just play it on real hardware anyway.

I have recently taken to Macs for designing. They are damn near impossible to crash and there is none of that 'out of RAM' bullshit. It just sits there rendering until it's done.

I honestly wasn't trying to turn this in to a Mac vs PC thread, as I was just saying I think this is great for Apple users despite me not liking the company and computers themselves.

I will admit that I do think it sucks for them they can't enjoy a lot of the great emulators out there for Windows, unless they use Boot Camp. Only reason I think it sucks is because they have a decent-size user base, plus why they fuck would you have a closed source emulator in this day and age?

Oh I know, I'm just saying that I recently got into Macs myself. I don't think either one is superior across the board.

The way I see it, and the way I use it, Macs are the reliable computer that you do all of the important stuff that you don't want to lose/get messed up and PCs are for homebrew fiddling like emulators, psp custom firmware MMS makers, modding XBOXes, etc. The architecture of PCs is much more bare bones and simplistic, so it yields itself to lots of low funded free programming. I don't think I would ever use a PC as my primary computer, but its always good to keep one for auxiliary tasks that you can't do on a mac.

This is good news. It'll be great to take screen shots with when I review games and whatnot (for another site, not for Sega-16).

This is quite old news :P

    Eidolon's inn needs more attention...

Good XP setup should boot within 15 seconds after you have plugged the power cord into a wall outlet... at least the setup on my gaming machine does boot that fast.

Only if you don't have much installed on it.
