Amiga games, European games are not for everyone.
I like that it seems a lot different from the most of other MD platformers.

Music and sound effects are great, the graphics are improved, it fixes the small worldmap problem, uses Shadow/Highlight and scaling effects... Damn.
I don't feel like playing it till the bonus "3D" stages to see how they are in the MD version though.
Same opinions here but I think I will try to reach those levels using the longplay videos of the Amiga version as a guide.

The parallax is really great. Other conversions like SoTB and Wolfchild didn't end so well like this.

This is one of the best unreleased games to ever grace the Mega Drive. Thanks a lot to MetalliC for compiling the source code.

It's not the final Mr. Nutz 2 release (this is still Mr. Nutz: Hoppin' Mad), but it doesn't matter as long as the game is complete (seems to be so far).

Looks like we don't have "3D" stage, Kamahl. They were changed, not lamely changed but no 3D anymore.
The first 3D stage is on the first world in a flying bonus part. On the MD it was replaced with a 2D scrolling shooter level. It's pretty cool though...
The 3D pre-sequence to the first boss was removed and the boss is smaller than on a Amiga and the level where it happens is a bit different too.
Looks like the game has the same number of levels of the Amiga version but with some changes. Some effects look better on the MD but some (like rain in one of the first stages) were removed or changed.

I'm digging the music... The game sounds damn good.
And I have to agree with what Wesker said all the time: this is far faaaarr superior to the first one. Gameplay is way deeper and I enjoyed playing it a lot more than the previous game.
The graphics are colorful, full of neat effects, good animation, big sprites, tons of parallax and everything runs fast, no slowdowns until the point I have reached. Impressive.
IMO it's by far the best MD unreleased game to surface until now. I hope that Ken will write a review about it soon, this game deserves some love.

I was quite disappointed with the music in this one, as I played Amiga game before it and because this game uses same sound engine as Mega Turrican does (and Chris Hülsbeck made sure it sounded awesome, not the case of this game...)

Chris Hülsbeck was the only one that managed to make MD sound very close to the Amiga even in the MD soundchip's weak points IMO.
The Amiga soundtrack of the Mr. Nutz is far superior but I didn't expect the MD to sound as awesome since the original seems to use those instruments that always sound awesome on the Amiga but have no close equivalents on the MD. I don't know to name what instruments they are but some of them on the Amiga reminded me some of the SoTB soundtrack trademarks.

I could very accurately recreate the "nature" theme on MD, there's nothing that FM would struggle with

That's great actually, the 3D stages sucked IMO.

Wow this game is really cool! I should see about making a cover for it... Anyone got a scan of the Amiga cover?

    Much better.

Both the logo and the artwork (which is in fact a recycled Mr. Nutz 1 artwork) can be taken in better quality from here:

Excellent! I really wanted that pic of him without all the logos on the bottom. I'll definitely put these to good use. Thanks to both of you.

Now what should I call it on the cover: Mr. Nutz 2, Mr. Nutz Hopping Mad, Mr. Nutz 2 - Hopping Mad.... I'm thinking Hopping Mad because that's what the title screen says... What do you guys think?
