    Irfanview is so great

It seems an Amiga is needed to get the game assembled/compiled/whatever... I'm not really able to make out what is needed to get something nice for MD out of the bunch of files....

I just replied to the thread over at AG.

Seriously, this is quite possibly some of the best news the 16bit scene has had to offer in a long time. Most people were never aware of this version of Mr Nutz with it being an Amiga only release, however it is far superior to the SNES/MD version.

Im so hopeful that it can be complied into a working ROM as playing it over 4 disks on an Amiga with only one button isnt getting the most out of it.

    Im excited!

Game developer Peter Thierolf confirms the port was 100% completed by Neon (pretty logic seeing how some mags managed to test/review the game) but wasn't released by Ocean because of Mega Drive market downfall in 1995. Ocean published Addams Family Values and Worms that same year, though.

Those emulator screenshots are actually coming from him.

It would be just a matter then of him or anyone eventually releasing a full rom of the finished product. Easier way than compiling this leaked source code. Shame he seems to be reluctant to free his particular rom, though.

Ya, those shots were first posted on Digital Press before. I guess it is odd he didn't mention that

I was wondering if there had been any progress on Mr Nutz 2 since the source was leaked/released.
but it seems some important files are missing that make it impossible to compile a working rom?

does anyone else know more about this?

Just played a bit... Feels awesome!

If it's really complete it's a fucking big game. The longplay video for the Amiga version has over 5 hours or something like that.

Holy crap someone actually got it running I wonder how complete it is. When I get a chance I'll have to play it through.

It makes sense that a Russian would get it compiled - the source used an obscure Russian 68K assembler that isn't available on the net. So either someone needed to convert all that code into a more accessible assembler or wait for someone to track down a physical copy of that obscure assembler.

Just played the game, really excellent port.
Music and sound effects are great, the graphics are improved, it fixes the small worldmap problem, uses Shadow/Highlight and scaling effects... Damn.
I don't feel like playing it till the bonus "3D" stages to see how they are in the MD version though.

The levels are way too short and the overworld is annoying. An exceptionally lame platformer.

It's an okay little platformer, only played it for a few mins on Kega with a PS1 pad, but yeah, it's ok.

Tomorrow, I'll put it on my MegaCart and play it on real hardware and give it a proper playthru.

Don't have one at this point in time, but I will.

In regards to the original Amiga version, if you look at the screenshot here, when the game's paused, it's a clean pause.

And then, look at this screenshot of the Mega Drive version when it's paused:

Ignoring the obvious, if you look at the bottom of the screen, you'll notice what can only be assumed is X/Y/Z coordinates. Now, I know, this was an unfinished game, so stuff like this is expected, but, it could also mean there's some kind of debug menu there. I'm gonna at least try tomorrow and see if I find something.
