There is no denying it, considering the time and the limitations of the hardware, Doom Troopers is a pretty gory game. However, unlike the unutterably lame Splatterhouse series, this game uses its goriness to simple effect. It livens up and gives some character and humour to what is otherwise a fairly standard side scrolling platform/adventure game.

splatterhouse was a great series compared to this turd. The nes game offers more humour as well, featuring zombies doing the "thriller dance" with dracula and other whacky things.

Is it just me or does a lot of the scenery in those screenshots look like Donkey Kong Country?

i got pretty far once but i enede up in this one stage where some guy was throwing bones and the pile kept getting huge and he woudlnt thake any damage and i was ended

This game is a USA exclusivity but I think it is average. The real positive point about it is a 2 players mode.
Digital graphics aged bad (as the majority of games concerned). Hard to find a complete copy with poster and card.
There is better games in the genre as Contra, Batman & Robin and Gunstar Heroes.
