The first Earthworm Jim game was great and some people feel that the sequel did a good job in surpassing it. Well it did, in almost every category. Shiny gave this game even more cartoony appeal, made the stages longer, and added lots to the fun.

I like EWJ2 very much
Death To MP3,
:3
Mida sa loed ? Nagunii aru ei saa"Gnirts test is a shit" New and growing website of total jawusumness !
One of the greats, I think this was the last game I got for the MD before moving on to the 32-bit generation.
On a wave of mutilation
I love this game too.
So much variety and goodness. great fun and funny too.
Luv the classical music in "now jim's a blind cave salamander"
A true classic and the 1st one was amazing too.
I truly believe that this game was equally as good as its predecessor. My only complaint with EWJ2 was
-some near impossible levels remain
-those puppy/marshmallow bounce "games" became really annoying
Otherwise this is a game that I really enjoy playing over again with save states.

I gotta admit i wasn't a huge fan of them levels! one level yeah fair enough but three! lol, didn't they have like 3 rounds each too.
As i remember the cow abducting level could be a little frustrating too, but everything else was pure gold I'm sure.
Oh just thought, at the start of that cow abducting level there was some sort of extra bonus right at the start if you jump and use your whip/snot swing, did anyone actually get all the way up there to see what it was?
I only wish they had done a CD SE like they did with the first. EWJ:SE is perhaps my most favorite SEGA CD game.
Am I just being dumb, or is there no way to swap weapons in the Genesis version? (I'm used to the SNES version -which I own- I tried out this version on Fusion)
It would seem odd to leave that out. (at least support it with a 6-button controller, though a combo should have worked too)
A CD version certainly would have been cool (probably similar to the PC version), too bad the CD had been cut by the time this game came out.
I think one of the particular added attractions of this game (compared to the first, which I never owned), was the more cartoony feel and similarities to the animated series.

I ordered EWJ2 and just got it on Friday. Got a good deal too, $9 including shipping. I played it a bunch as a kid because my friend had it, and have always had good memories of this game. I'm not sure which EWJ I like better, both are really fun.
They also put it on Playstation (the same version as Saturn iirc), the soundtrack and sound effects seem to be the same as the PC version, but adds new, more colorful backgrounds. (I personally prefer the original backgrounds, for the most part)
Some people have complained about poor controls in the Saturn version, but I can't vouch for this. (haven't played it)
So does the Genesis version really not allow you to switch weapons?
Actually, what would have been REALLY cool is if they'd have released a 32X CD special edition. It seems to me that the combination of the 32X + CD was ideal for more modern platform games, like Gex or Rayman or even Tomba.
I loved EWJ but somehow never got around to playing #2. I'm going to have to keep an eye out for this.
this games great I remember spending hours on end playin this.
