Nice find Jerry!
Gotta ask one question though, is this game really all that it's hyped up to be when it comes to shooters. Is it worth the high price it demands?

It is a good shooter and there is certainly a lot happening on screen especially on the later levels but in the later stages i found my brain switching off as it just seemed a bit mindless and repetitive, i also felt the bosses could of been more interesting too. So i did enjoy it mainly in the early stages but i feel i have had more fun from other shooters that perhaps have a slower pace about them like Master Of Weapon.
Thanks guys! I'm elated!
I dunno yet! I've never played it before, in emulation or otherwise. I'm gonna play in a few minutes so I'll have to let you know later. I'll say that it'll almost definitely be worth the $3.99 I payed!
Here's a link the the pictures and the story in the haul thread, if anyone is interested.
I love this game. I actually have one for sale, cart and box no manual, as much as I love her, I have to leave her
This is probably one of the best games on the system period imo
Oh yeah, so I played this last night for a good half-hour/forty-five minutes. It's awesome! The gameplay is fantastic, the music seriously kicks ass, and the graphics are really great for a game from 1990. There are some awesome effects like the lighting strikes in stage 4 (which turn the entire background white, and all of the on-screen sprites black) that are just really cool to see in action. The bosses are a lot of fun and there's a great amount of variety.
I'm glad I found it for so cheap, because this is definitely a game I would have spent top dollar on. It might not be worth eBay prices to everyone, but it would be for me. I'm not expert on them or anything, but MUSHA is definitely the most fun vertical shooter I've ever played.
You're a lucky SOB! That's literally a steal. I think MUSHA is the best vertical shmup on the Genesis. Whether it's worth the price or not depends on each person's willingness to spend for games (I'm cheap and even for the best games, I won't spend $100+), but to each his own. Congrats on picking up one of the best Genesis games for so little!
Oh yeah, so I've played this pretty much every day since I got it. It totally kicks ass. Still haven't beaten the game yet, I've only made it to the final boss once and I usually lose all of my lives on the final stage before I even get to him. But yeah, really fun game and really great soundtrack and awesome graphics for a game from 1990!
My favorite level would be the 4th (I misspoke up there and said it was the 5th), which has fantastic colors and the cool lightning effect, and my favorite track would be the 5th stage music, Noh Specter. Seriously, check this out. Totally badass:
Just a note, this may have been recorded off of an emulator, but it sounds better to me when it's coming out of my X'Eye. But you can at least hear how awesome the composition is. Someone needs to do a metal arrangement of the whole soundtrack if that hasn't been done already.
Huh, really? What difficulty are you on? I beat it in about 45 minutes on my first try.
Oh, gotcha. Yeah I'm no shmup expert either but I've played a lot of them; I think in terms of difficulty MUSHA is a good one to 'start' with, as it's not unreasonably hard.
Well, it can't be harder than Gradius.
Just beat this!
Didn't die until right before the final boss, but luckily I had enough options that I could just them to Free and let them do their thing, which allowed me to focus all my attention on the boss itself. I could probably 1-CC this one pretty easily, I think.
Anyway, great game, top shelf all the way. Really, really happy to have it in my collection!![]()
ya, tried MUSHA again. Pretty average stuff still.

Aleste for SmS is much better IMO. At least you get challenging game play. In Musha I pretty much sit back and hold the fire or shoot button while tapping left and right every now and than. Actually once I left the game running at level 2 and it took 5 whole mins for me to lose all my lives. Kinda makes me *yawn* to be brutally honest. ^^
