Sonic The Hedgehog 3

This game corrected every little mistake that was found in the first two Sonic The Hedgehog titles and does them one better. With more reasons to play, more secrets, and just more Sonic fun, part three was hyped well before its release and I have to say it lived up to every little bit of it.

I know that today is the day after "Hedgehog Day" but it's hard to believe that it's been 16 years since SEGA released this epic cart and changed our video gaming forever. I was shocked to see that this talkback thread had no replies, so I thought I'd give one of my all-time favorite carts some love.

I'm still good at Blue Sphere after all these years. It's easily my favorite Sonic special stage (mainly because I'm great at it).

Oh yeah, the rest of Sonic 3 is good as well, yeah...

i absolutely love the boss battle where tails is flying in the air and holding sonic by the hands, one of my favorite boss battles ever! i like the way sonic will fall off of the screen then tails goes down after him and slowly ascends back up to the screen, plus eggman showcases probobly the most awesome display of scaling on the console in that battle, one of my all time greatest sega genesis moments for sure!

That was a pretty creative boss fight to be sure. It's even more fun when a second player takes up the 2nd controller and maneuvers Tails around.

My favorite Sonic on the Genesis and 2nd favorite overall. It was the first game I got for my Genesis. I've probably played it more than anything else on it.

Parts 2, 3, and S&Knuckles.... 'ever'.

Soon I will have them in my grasp along with part 1 (which I grew up playing).

Wow the special stages are hard. I'm playing just the special stages (of Sonic 3&K) and trying to legitimately earn all of the emeralds. After getting 3 of them, I struggled to the 4th one, then played some more, the game glitched and I was back to 3 emeralds. LOL

EDIT: I just got a 4th emerald again, then lost it again. So I'm back to 3 emeralds again. Now I suspect that you can't keep the emeralds u win, if you are using the level select code??? Well I've beaten the game so I also can use the in-game level select that u get from beating the game. But u can't select special stages, so do I really have to ONLY use special stages within the actual game, if I want to keep the emeralds???

Why would you need the level select code; the game saves your progress. And yeah, the level select cheat doesn't store what emeralds you collect.

If you must cheat, just use the debug mode in the normal game.
