Why was the oil barrel destroying bonus stage (the third bonus stage in the arcade version) removed to put in a brick destroying bonus stage (the second bonus stage in the SNES and Sega Mega Drive/Sega Genesis ports?)

Maybe it's because they didn't want to program the "physics" of the barrels?

Does anybody know of an accurate tier list for SFII': Champion Edition?

Very solid version. The 6 button is great for this.

Probably because there would have been too much flicker. I believe that the brick stack is made of tiles.

... I am heading towards the original having a better soul and color palette. It was fun to play, true to the arcade, and wasn't a Glitzy Robotic port. I played the old $.20 cents arcade machines back in the day when I was like 8!

Quoted for truth. I grew up on both CE and TNC, and even though the later has improved graphics/sprites, the former still rocks my socks.

He said tier list, so he's talking about the strongest characters.

No, those are the best characters hands down. tier list in CE has been pretty definitive for 2 decades. the game had balance issues. Bison can infinitely lock you down 100% with an inescapable block string with his scissor kicks, if done right. unblockable psycho crusher if done right. great normal moves. he does lose to guile tho, if he cant get in and start his shenanigans

I think this is most likely. But looking at a video of it, there aren't that many barrels on screen and they're not that big. So I don't know.

Funny, because I've yet to play against anyone who's actually good with Guile. I have zero issues destroying this game on the highest difficulty setting with Sagat alone.
