    Default Taz-Mania

Back when I had just received a Sega Genesis for Christmas and still didn't have any games other than the great Sonic The Hedgehog, I remember seeing a certain commercial of Taz-Mania countless times on TV. Its graphics were unbelievable, it looked a lot like a real cartoon, and I absolutely had to have it! I bought it the first chance I got with my own money.

a Pretty good platformer starring Taz, though not as good as the Disney Games.

    Thumbs up

For some reason, the camera movement on this game makes me a little dizzy.

Other than that, I think it's a fine game that was perfectly at home on the "Blast Processing" Genesis. I like the sequel, "Taz in Escape from Mars" (it fixed most of this cart's gameplay problems, IMO) much better, but this is still a very solid and fun game!

After getting rid of this game years ago I saw it being thrown out by a shop and thought what the hell I'd might as well grab it

If I could take back my previous user score I would, this game is certainly not above average, I can't for the life of me see how Sega could put their name to such an obviously amateurish, badly coded, rushed game, this game is the sort of thing you'd expect of the lowest of the low budget companies.

The music is utterly shamefull in is half-assedness, there has been no effort put into it at all.

Not only are the sound effect also bad but they are so bad that they massively detract from the gameplay and consistantly irritate, my friend put it best when he said "you know those old keyboards that had a joke sound FX mode? it sounds like someone's just hitting keys in that mode and then recorded it to the game"

The animation is really below average for this time period and uses a patheticly small amount of frames, just watch him trying to eat stuff in an ultra jerky manner

The gameplay is extremely poor and is full of leaps of faith and unfair deaths, there's no unique ideas, the fast gameplay is stupidly misjudged as the game is full of spikes and drops and the character controls like sh#t.

My new score would be 3/10

I never had a problem with this game. Yes, now that I'm older it looks very primitive compared to other games but it still does the job right.

This game is terrible. I remember that I was all hyped up by the TV commercials and expected it to be as good as Quackshot or Castle of Illusion, but when I finally bought it, at a time I owned maybe half a dozen games at best, it turned out it was a piece of crap.

This game is pretty bad for a platformer.

I recently purchased this game and don't care for it at all. The controls are too loose and the level design ranges from boring to confusing. Not much fun at all.

I call Taz-mania one of those overly overly games. As in overly bad camera that can make you dizzy, and overly hard in some sections...if not downright impossible. I feel it rates no more than a 4.

Played it back in the day. I always thought this game was a bit creepy, but it is mostly because it has some really evil sound effects.

?? That's easily the best lv, the single lv that approaches anything like fun. If that has you cursing 'god damn it', what'd the other lvs make you say? This game is shoddy, broken and sonically hideous, but when one reaches that desperate degree of inspissated boredom where one actually wants to play it is not at all hard, just a sorry boast. "Hey, I beat Taz today." "You what?" "I, er, watched four episodes of Let's Make a Deal". Better.
