    Default Final Fight CD

I remember when the SNES version of Final Fight hit the streets. It sold like hot cakes and though it had been eagerly anticipated, many were returned the same day. No Guy? No two player mode? Levels missing and names changed? Flicker and slowdown all over the place? Many of my friends swore a Sicilian curse at Capcom that day and were bitter over it for a long time. Never having an arcade version near me for comparison, for a long time I couldn't see what all the controversy was about, until I played the Sega CD version.

I, on the other hand found this absolutely hilarious. For so long my SNES owning mates had taken the piss out of my poor little MD, and when I found out that their version of Final Fight was like this and my MCD version was massivly superior is every single conceivable way I laughed so hard I needed a lie down.

Yeah but you still couldn't see a little bit underneath those white tops Roxy and Poison were wearing like in the arcade.

I never could enjoy "Final Fight" as much as SOR2.

I bought the SCD version and played it, but the controls never felt as smooth and tight as they are in SOR2 (this is a problem with all FF Games).

    ^ What he said.

And: Do I just suck or is this game too hard? I can't beat it on normal with max lives/continues. Can anyone give me some tips?
Got Pier Solar? Good. Please post a comment here.

It is just too hard, I cannot even beat it on easy. The bosses, I think, are what kills it. They are too 'quarter hungry' for a game with limited continues, unlike how it is in the arcade. This is why something like Streets of Rage 2 does not have the same issue.

Also, I think it might be a good assumption that the game was tested to be played in co-op?

"Final Fight" and SoR2 are amongst my Top 5 favorite beat-em-ups ever. I disagree, FF plays like a dream......that is if you're playing the coin-op or even the SNES versions.

Back in the late '90's, I liked FFCD a lot. It blew away the SNES effort, retained most if not all of the coin-op's animation, and had RedBook music. Now, not so much. On top of how color-starved this port is (its friggin emanciated!), the gameplay doesn't feel "right". The controls aren't as responsive as the coin-op or SNES versions, and if you've noticed there's animation glitches whenever you yield and swing a weapon which looks really weird and ruins your timing. The RedBook soundtrack is too soft and laid-back for this game. The SNES rendition of the FF soundtrack and the arranges of Guy/Sodom/Rolento's stage music in "Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold" are my favorite interpretations of the original, grating CPS1 FF soundtrack.

I occasionally play it as a curiousity, but otherwise I stick with the now readily-available original coin-op FF. And if you find this interpretation of FF difficult, than the coin-op (which can have up to 10-11 opponents on-screen in its highest difficulty) will EAT YOU ALIVE!. FFCD only has up to 4 opponents on-screen, SNES FF has only 3.

I remember the version of FF for the GBA not being quite as bad, but I think things were a bit tweaked for that version (it seemed like less of a "quarter muncher").

I got "Final Fight" for the Capcom Collection and I don't find it to be anywhere near as fun as "Captain Commando" or "King of Dragons"

For this game,There should apply "Genesis Does,What Nintendon't" Because the Sega CD/Mega CD Version of Final Fight is WAY too superior over the SNES version(Which was crappy)

I think Final Fight is a good game, but after playing so much the 3 streets of rage games I felt so disapointed when I bought and played this.

Good but not even in the same league with Sor games...

I was a huge FF fan in the arcades when I was a kid...young enough that I would practice the moves outside. Like many here was extremely disappointed on Christmas when the snes version was only 1 player. I remember reading something that said 1 player... and I thought it was a misprint. The snes version is rough, I'm not sure if I ever beat it without using options code. Thinking back, it ticks me off about it being so limited. Years later I played the Sega CD version and thought that it would have been so much fun to have this back in the day. The soundtrack..sometimes I love it...sometimes it seems to not fit.

SOR 2/3 is better. and SOR1 is definitely better than the snes version.

Well surprise surprise! Got my copy in a surprising manner when I got a Mega CD1 replacement on ebay. Was hidden inside the CD tray.

The game is so hard IMO, I couldn't finish it...
