    Default Contra Hard Corps

What can I say about Contra, everyone knows what you get with Contra. But Contra Hard Corps is something quite different, I would go as far to say as it is the Best Contra game EVER!! and not for the standard reason. Oh sure you do get one of the best shooters out there, but what make this game exceptional is all you can do with it.

    Level 2

    Research Center - flying,center

    Deadeye Joe - driving, robot

    Level 3

instead of shoot door once past ramp heading down instead go up

to Battle Mode (alt end) funny for Ray or Fang as they wind up married to a ape

    Level 5

option to surrender in transport room if surrender you get

Fang (wolf) train level Fangs Best Ending

Ray, Sheena Space Station Level Best Ending

    Browny (robot) ship, alien base

don't surrender and fight to end

with Sheena on next to last level you will be given an option to join
Game Over type ending world in choas message but you will be given
a cahnce to try again but anyway continue on to Rocket Level 2nd best ending in game

With Fang or Ray you fight Alien Demon as final Boss and get an incomplete message

Browny Train Battle different from Fang's next level after 2 faced Mother Alien, Alien Heart, see castle destoryed

Browny will also get an option to join do and get Darkness and gloom message,

don't and get best ending for Browny

Name me one other Contra game where you get more than just one ending? and what I posted above are some amazing graphics that even I was unsure the Genesis was capable of.

Babelfish, we have threads for every game reviewed so far, search for those instead of starting new topics for them. You're only creating more clutter for the site.
Check out my review channel at GameFaqs here. Then feel free to leave feedback and comment here

If it had been reviewed already blame your search engine. I checked this out twice before I posted this.

    Hey Bablefish go here.
    http://www.sega-16.com/reviews.php?sys=Genesis&letter=C

All the reviews on the main sega-16 site have links in them to the threads in this forum. No need to use the forum search engine for games.

Sorry if I'm stepping over my lines here moderators. But I'm Bablefish didn't know this was how it worked in this forum.

Actually, this game was missing its thread, so it's all good. I've added the link to the main post.

I'm only interested in two things: Titties and beer. Ya know what I mean?

OMG! I just received Contra Hard Corps by the mail and it is HAAAAAAARD.

...It's sooo hard, it makes Ghouls 'N Ghosts seem like a walk in the park.

...It's sooo hard, it makes you wonder if it wasn't a mistake that our fellow Americans made when they omited the life gage and unlimited continues (them lazy SoA employees )

...It's so hard, it's difficulty level is it's own middle name.

Keep at it and remember when in doubt slide. Once you get the levels memorized a little better it becomes lots of fun. The little robot Brownie is good for beginners.

I always felt that the game's title was like wordplay, if you look at how both of these sound when you say them: Contra Hardcore vs Contra Hard Corps.

    Konami got us good! XD

Also, could only get the secret ending in this game, couldn't actually get a legit one because the game was indeed hard. Damn fun though, and probably my favorite Contra title.

Thanks for the tip. I does feel a bit like a shmup when you think about the learning curve. I'm going to be so proud of myself when I beat it on my own.

This game is too F-ing hard to be taken seriously. It's just, impossibly hard. The original Contra is definitely do-able, but this one is just preposterous.

Fuck this game, go with the original Contra and Super C.

Well, there's always the Game Genie. What do you think I just did to beat the game.

P.S.> I just told my friend this: If the JP version had a 3-hits life gage with three lives and unlimited continues, then I should be able to use a cheat or two on the American version.

I have a theory that people who claim this game is impossibly hard haven't read the manual and don't know that you are temporarily invulnerable when you slide. Once you learn the appropriate times to slide, the game becomes significantly more do-able. It's also key to live as long as possible between deaths so that you can retain your best weapons and gradually regain whichever one you may have lost through death.

When it comes to character selection I don't have any luck with Fang the Wolfman since most of his power attacks are close range only. I recommend Ray or Sheena for more traditional Contra gameplay.
