    Default MD1 av cables?

Yes I have tried searching the forums but have managed to get no where... also doesn`t help that my knowledge when it comes to the technical department leaves a lot to be desired. I`m after the best cable to hook up my model 1 megadrive (HDG) to my tv, my tv has component in etc, no scart! Is there an av cable that has a plug that comes out of it that you put into the phones socket?

SCART is a European thing, you need to mod it and shit in order to get it on there.

He said he has a TV without scart. You can get a cable to fit it on evilbay easy, look for Genesis model 1 AV cable, it'll have the large din connector (bigger round) and yellow and white or red on the other end. Remember to get a phono to RCA jack cable for stereo sound.

I remember seeing a cable (don`t quote me on it) that had the AV plugs (red, white, yellow), as well as RCA`s with the plug comming out of it to plug into the phones socket.

This one looks like it will work well. Ignore that it only has one phono jack, only one gets connected and you use the cheap-o headphone to hook from the front of the MD. Hope this helps. That cable has a lot of insulation, looks like. Good one.

If you want to drop the money you can but a European Megadrive RGB scart cable and then plug it into an RGB to Component adapter and you will have an amazing picture.

I think your only choice with that cable is one of these.

Will forking out more money for higher quality ones make any difference?

No I don't think so unless it is super crappy. That was just the first pic I found.

All sorted! I have the MD1 scart cable on it`s way from across the ocean. I have bought the scart converter box, stereo/RCA lead and component lead here off our auction site! Now all I have to do is hurry up and wait!
