Well folks, the gaming event of the year (although not what it used to be) is fast approaching. While I personally am most looking forward to something that will definitely solidify my jump to the PS3, (Twisted Metal, anyone?) I am interested to hear everyone else's thoughts/predictions as to what this year's event will hold. Discuss!

I like the idea of this thread
I'm most looking forward to Nintendo's press conference, mainly because last years was so terrible. I've never been so disappointed in a company.

I'm just looking forward to some surprise releases on Nintendo's systems. I don't care too much about the games that have already been announced.

Nintendo's going to 'Trilogy pack' Metroid Prime for the Wii, hopefully they'll announce 'Kid Icarus', Hopefully cave story wii is mentioned there along with a pile of other new wii-ware titles.
Microsoft are going to shit all over XBL with new Zune services, they already had their ZuneHD hardware leaked, which will come out in September.
I really expect a whole lot of 'bullshit' from them otherwise.
If I see Call of Duty 6, I will scream like a girl and strangle a kitten to death.
I have no faith in new gaming. Nothing's great anymore.
Unless a major PC dev is there and annouces some killer new software for Linux platforms, I'll probably toil in the obscurity of retro gaming for a long time to come.

I'm not sure I like the redesign. We all saw it coming, and I think going umd-less is a bold decision, I just can't figure out why Sony neglected to throw a second analog nub to the system.

Honestly, If Sega doesn't come out with new hardware (Sega Pluto, RingEdge console, etc) then I will stick with what I got. I am however looking forward to the PC releases of Diablo III, Starcraft II, and Aliens Vs Predator.

It's not going to happen Edge. Perhaps get a DS or PSP Go to go with your PC? Portable gaming is excellent these days, and not nearly as costly as consoles.
