I'm quite familiar with the Gen version of MK2, and I just received the 32x version, ok if I write both reviews?

No problem! Just be sure to establish the improvements/differences when you do the 32X one.
You should do a side-by-side.

To do an honest side b side i'd have to also add the snes version, whcih i don't have.
I think MK was much bigger a thing on Genny than snes, snes was more of a street fighter thing =)

Hehe, a side-by-side with the SNES version would be a massacre for the Genny game. The SNES cart was so much better.
A comparison with the 32X game might be cool though.
A side-by-side needn't include the SNES version. Two versions makes a side-by-side.

The Side-by-Side articles compare games that appear on the Genesis and other consoles. Doing one with the 32X would be unfair, since it's more powerful. There'd be no contest.
I never thought of the point being a contest, I just thought such articles were to inform on in what ways version A is better than version B.
*shrug* It's Mortal Kombat, so it doesn't really matter. :P

They are to inform. What I'm saying is that it wouldn't be a fair comparison to put the SNES version against the 32X one. They're not on the same level in terms of available power. A more fair comparison would be the standard Genny cart vs. the SNES one.Originally Posted by j_factor
Well then put the 32x one against the Saturn version? Ugh, that one sucked.

Doom 32X vs. Saturn Doom! My god, the Saturn one was bad.
We could just include all three MKIIs, I guess. Was it released on any other system at the time? I don't remember.
Gameboy and Gamegear, but ehh.. as you can imagine, those two suffer from a hilarious number of shortcomings.
MK2 is in the top 5 games of all time for number of different ports. Arcade, Genesis, 32x, Saturn, SNES, Game Boy, Game Gear, PC, Amiga, Master System, and Playstation = 11 systems. The only game I know of that's on more systems is Puyo Puyo/Pop Fever (which is on 14 I think); Primal Rage ties at 11.

Wow, we gotta do some puyopop reviews =)
Anyway, Still waiting to get MK2 for Genesis so I can make both reviews.
