    Default Crazy Rare Releases?

So which are the rarest Mega CD games for the US?

The top 3 rares EU games are:

    1. The Adventures of Batman & Robin (known copies can be counted on the fingrs of 1 hand).

    2. Fatal Fury Special (Same here).

    3. Samurai Showdown. Usually goes for something like 150$US.

    In the USA?

Lawnmower Man I think is the rarest in the states, but the european version is set to run on US systems for some reason. All the working Designs games, and even the orignal release of Night Trap are common, just in demand, so that's why they are pricy, not rarity. Maybe some obscure, crappy game is the rarest US Sega CD game.

The thing about rare games in europe, some games are only released in some countries. I've heard some of those games had a release in one country, but not the rest of europe. I know that's true for some variations.

Lawnmower man is rare? Really? I never knew that. I just guess I never thought of that because a friend of mine had it.

They where pre-release copies, and I doubt they had a box or manual. I dunno how they got out in circulation, but I've heard you can find it online. I've never seen an ISO for it, but I've heard it's out there.

I have The Lawnmower Man for Sega CD. It is a very rare game. The problem is that nobody wants it because the game is bad. I would give it a 2.

Batman and Robin? Why would they go through the hastle of pressing copies to make less then 10? What did the machine break during printing and they sold the 8 or 9 they had?

seriousily a CD press run does not become cost effective until the several thousand prints. No publisher in their right minds (not saying there aren't any over the top mad publishers out there) would print that few of copies...

except in the penn and teller case as that was a promo dealy.

    Das war der Hammer.

Well when someone decides to make a bad game out of a worse movie...

I think it's worth having because of the sheer obscurity of it.

Here's what I saw on the PAL Mega CD Database, concerning Batman and Robin

Those hunting for perhaps the rarest official Mega-CD game should look in Spain - pretty much every copy held by collectors has come from there.
    For Fatal Fury Special:

Limited experience suggests that it was released in mainland Europe if not the U.K. - Damian's originally came from Spain, mine seems to have started out in France and a third collector has one from Germany.
So see these games might have been released in some countries. Look, Spain only got the Model 2 Mega CD, so some games might seem rare, but they could be hella common in some areas.

I'm sure more than eight or a few copies of these games where released, it's just that a lot of people fessed up about owning them. Or a lot of the people who have them don't have internet access, so...

Well, thats true for pretty much any rare game.

Personaly I would agree to these games beeing rare. Ive seen pretty much all other Mega CD games on tradera.se or ebay.com. But not these 3.

The only thing that should be rare about Lawnmower Man is finding someone who actually likes it.
