To follow up on this -- Lastcallhall was kind enough to try Awesome Possum on his 12MHz overclocked Model 1 at my request. He says there's no real improvement with OC enabled. Originally Posted by goldenband

I wouldn't think so: the issue is probably DMA bandwidth related. The real test for that would be to run it in 50 Hz and see if it was smoother. (50 Hz has MUCH more vblank DMA time to work with -more than double per frame and about double on average overall) Originally Posted by goldenband
