Default Games based on less hyped sports

This is a thread to discuss games based on sports that are less hyped than say baseball, american football, soccer, basketball, etc.

    For example:

    -Blast Lacrosse (PSX)
    -The Curling (PSX, japan only)
-Minna de Curling (DS, later got an english release as just Curling)
    -Michelle Kwan Figure Skating
    -Imagine Figure Skating (DS)
    And the list goes on.

What I'm looking forward to most of all is a fencing game that resembles the actual sport. The one on Mario & Sonic Olympics was fun, but with the Wii's input there should be a more realistic one, maybe even with licenses to introduce people to the world of fencing.

We rarely see lacrosse video games though, and that's probably why BL on PSX gets any attention from collectors.

I'm still waiting for a good full-contact chess game to appear.

    Talking

The topic of this thread makes me laugh.

...unless the great skitchin, the road rash series, Hydro Thunder, All the skate boarding games, bmx series, surfing games and every olympic sport title is/was considered a "less hyped" sport. Then, certainly, the joke's on me.

I like the lacross idea but Baci ball, shuffle board, and curling are my choice for obscure sports games.

Alex Kidd was a great scissors-paper-stone simulator with a platform game attached.

The Yakyuken Special for Saturn is a paper-rock-scissors simulator with girls taking off their clothes in reward for being beaten.

On another note, Golf games are pretty mucht the only sports games I've played much (and THE only ones I've played on NES), along with a couple Tennis and Soccer games, but no so much. For some reason the golf games are kind of addicting, especially multiplayer.

Nope, those games aren't full-contact enough.

    Also:

    Helicopter and/or jetpack jousting.

Rusty once more wins the price for "most jawusum idea EVER conceived". Though the classic "Joust" comes very close to that (instead of jetpacks you got giant buzzards and flying ostriches... which is even MORE JAUWUSUMERIFFIC! Someone should make a proper remake of that, pronto! Include some fire-breathing dragons, and you got a hit!

as for "less popular sports", I always liked "Super Dodgeball"

There was also a Quake mod called Quess, which simulated chess with the Quake monsters replacing the chess pieces. Whenever you captured a piece the two monsters would, you guessed it, fight to the death. Guess which monster took the place of Queen.

I was just thinking about what could make jousting cool in this high-tech, ipod age...

And then I remembered that both helicopters *and* jetpacks are pretty goddamn cool....

So I put the two together, and struck jawusumness.

The world is also ready for a no-holds barred simulations of these sports as well

    Bossaball...

    Shin Kicking...

    And, most awesome of all...

    Camel Wrestling!

    British Shin Kicking?

Something that happens every time two guys get wasted at a pub is not an organized sport.

But we do need a camel wrestling game, the world needs that.
