    Yuck Last Action Hero

It seems that no one liked Last Action Hero. The Governator was beginning his slow downward spiral into movie retirement, and his first movie after the incredible T2: Judgment Day got trounced at the box office by Sleepless in Seattle. So poorly did the movie do, that Shwarzenegger's own salary was virtually equal to its opening weekend gross. Of course, Sony tried to capitalized on the movie with a video game tie-in, and to say that the game mimics the film isn't entirely accurate. Let's just say that as bad as the movie may be, the game is infinitely worse. Horrible gameplay, repetitive enemies, brutal difficulty, and levels that go on way too long are only some of the problems that plague this doorstop. Read our full review and be thankful that this is one time that Arnold didn't come back.

    False.

Woeful game for a woeful movie. The plot was so twisted and uselessly confusing!

I'm gonna have to backup Baloo on this.

Action movie satire at its finest.

During one of the film's early chase sequences, Arnold is being chased through LA by a pick-up full of machine-gun-toting bad guys. Arnold coolly leans back and shoots a parked ice cream truck, which naturally explodes.

One of the bad guys falls dead over the cab of the truck, with an ice cream cone buried in his skull.

If you can't find the humor in that, then I pity you. Pity.

Plus, Benedict (and the actor who plays him) is bad ass.

Charles Dance was pretty bad ass.

I absolutely adore the rooftop funeral scene.

    What about the theme song?

And lets not forget this song inspired some "Doom" music

There's a reason why I voted for this album in the "Soundtrack" thread.

    Bingo, Mr. Matthews!

A mixture of 90's hard and soft rock with a pinch of hip-hop for spice, courtesy of classic Cypress Hill, Last Action Hero's soundtrack is uniformly awesome. And, exemplified by the inclusion of Def Leppard's out of sync "Two Steps Behind," it shares the film's tongue-in-cheek charm. Super solid.

As for the game, never played it. Probably never will.

    Thanks for the review.

There are two releases of Last Action Hero on the Sega Genesis. There is only one difference, for some reason one has "Not for Resale" on the front cover and the other one does not.

This was previously talked about in the NFR thread:
