It's funny, just in all the wrong ways.

I can't believe anyone would criticize the fact that this guy is trying to craft something that's fun to read, that he's trying to be good. So the guy isn't a great writer, is that a crime? He's not going to get any better if he doesn't keep attempting (Stephen King's On Writing is testament to this). And complaining about it to 17days isn't going to help the original author improve in any way.

Also, this reads far better than many of the reviews hosted on this very site. Keep that in mind. You might argue that the crappier reviews we have here were done for fun, but how do you know that isn't the case with the Saturn story as well?

By all means, give constructive criticism where it is due. Just don't generalize Sega 16's articles as being hit or miss when the point of criticism is the writing's lack of revision & not the content itself. As I'm sure Melf knows how to proofread & spell check.

The content here isn't very funny, but that's subjective & not what was specified. The criticism is already clear enough to see and in no way slams the writer; outside of IP's point of him coming off as 'Trying too hard', Which is probably a fault of the revision process being MIA. The article's humor was used as a defense (irrelevantly) to the point of it being unrevised, and hard to read. Writing 'just for fun' or not, That's like saying "A 2 page essay with no punctuation is good enough during a college level English exam final."; It's defeatist in principal & ignorant in execution.

The point of the site being comedic in nature lead to "Stupid" remarks, & 17days further proving to be an asshole who thinks he's in the center of everything being discussed; while jumping into Defense mode at the drop of a pin. He can't help it, though he should try to once in a while.

Stepping outside of objectivity on the article itself & looking at the humor presented. I'm totally not surprised that one such as he who links YoutubePoop videos (And quotes them in his signature) would find this hilarious.

I reiterated about 6.9 trillion times I do not find it nor think it is intended to be laugh out loud funny. I found it an amusing anecdote with an "awww, that sucks dude!" feel to it. Again, had this been a post in the forum, everyone would be giving big thumbs up to it. I don't really care if you enjoyed it or not, but god damn if everyone didn't miss the point by miles.

And my signature is an internet meme that started in office e-mails, not youtube poop.

You shit on everything I do, you sir are the one that needs a nice douching out.

And, according to him, not the usual hot sauce, but the kind he got when he visited Uruguay the summer before. I wasn't sure where Uruguay was, but I was certain that they made really hot hot sauce.

WTF?????? We dont make an kind of hot sauces, why do people believe that South America is the same as Mexico? the spicier sauce I've had here is what we all know as ketchup...

I don't think it's a baseless generalization, and I'm not trying to put anyone down, but outside of the reviews of Melf, IP, Nick Gibson (Genesis Knight, I think?), and whoever Lillian Koehl is, there are a number of reviews I've read here that are very poorly written. Like GameFAQS quality or lower. And I do try to give constructive criticism when I find them, but unless the authors peruse years-old review threads, these criticisms are probably lost anyway.

Anyway, I'm getting off topic here. Regardless of whether or not this story is true or poorly written, that kid was a little shit. God I hate spoiled brats like that, lord knows I was familiar with a few of them when I was growing up. And shame on him for abusing my poor little underappreciated system

I honestly didn't intend for my criticism of the authors writing to create such a shit-storm. So... my bad.

On a side note, I was actually thinking of On Writing by Stephen King while reading the story! The author pretty much breaks every rule King sets. But it's true, practice makes perfect.

I think we all missed our derailment point here. We need to back up a few steps, and take another look. Knuckle Duster has a photo of a real life (literal) douche bag on file somewhere.

Why do people get so offended when their threads aren't well received? Did I go around calling everyone "fucking stupid" and post pictures of little kids crying when not everyone agreed with me that the return of Victor Ireland is awesome? Of course not. Because as a functioning adult, I understand that other people may not have the same opinions as I.
