    Default PAL Megadrive games

Do these fit in a US Genesis with no problems, granted they have NO region protection? I have a few I want, but I don't want to have to shave the carts.

Yup. They fit fine. They are exactly the same as Genesis carts. The box and instructions contain about 6,759,685 different languages, which makes them less cool. Also the instructions are horizontal instead of vertical, which makes them even more less cool.

Well, for the four games I want I don't really care about instructions, nor do they have region lock out or freqency lock out.

Haha, I'm still not sure if it was released.

    The ones I want:
    Snake Rattle 'n Roll
    Double Clutch
    Cannon Fodder
    Turbo Outrun
    Resq (if it was released)

Wasn't Turbo Outrun released here? Or at least in Japan?

In Europe and Japan only, but I'm not modding a cart or my system to accept huge carts.

Many games released after 1992 had regional lock outs, but not all. This list is pretty informative on this subject. http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/genes...is_lockout.txt

Two reasons to modify your console (or buy a Mega Key 2) are:
Alien Soldier and Bare Knuckle 3.

I have a Judge Dredd cart, from 1995 I believe. It's an american Genesis version with the red background, but works just fine on my system.

Yeah, and as you can see on the list, the game doesn't have a lock out.

I have PAL copies of PS2 and PS3 and they work great, and where cheaper from a US seller than domestic copies. The store an hour away charges around $20 USD for a loose PS2 cart in awful condition, and my PS2 cart was in mint condition, yet was a former rental. Go figure.

I like the horizontal instructions - they're a lot easier to get out of the box and hold open in your hand. My Japanese games (save from RKA which I keep super minty) all have wear marks on the spine where you have to bend them to take them out of their holder.

That makes three OutRun games that weren't released to the States - Battle OutRun and OutRun Europa for the SMS, and now Turbo OutRun. As for the latter - my only gripe is the modified & renamed music, and the difficulty. Keep Your Heart/Highway is still a cool tune, though.
