Spider-Man vs. the Kingpin was released for the Sega Genesis in 1991 and was both developed and published by Sega. This was the first version of the game and it later saw a release on the Sega CD, Sega Game Gear, and the Sega Master System.

My friend used to play this all the time. He loved spider-man. I remember it was a tough game.

What's the trick to beating Kingpin at the end?

I figured you have to jump kick him in the head but I just can't get my hits to connect.

The bad ending is very creepy, BTW. Poor Mary Jane!

Yeah the hit detection is seriously off in that fight. Just keep at it, took me several tries.

As a kid, this really captured the atmosphere of the comics/cartoon to me.
The controls are a bit clunky but they did get the webslinging right, and the photography thing was a nice touch.

Thanks, those boss fights can be pretty finicky on this game.

So, uhh, did anyone play the *ahem* other Spider-man Genesis game based on the FOX animated series?

I played the

other spider-man

game and it pales in comparison to spiderman-man vs kingpin
