When I was nine or ten I used to love playing SEGA Swirl, a Dreamcast-themed version of Samegame (those bubble-popping style games you can download for your phone). So I decided as my first real Megadrive game, I would port this rather simple game with some touches of my own. I've been working on it off and on since 2011 but have dedicated myself to doing one commit on my projects per day, bringing us to this current semi-playable beta of Zontar's Mega Swirl!

By trade I'm a developer, however, this is my first game I've made. So I'm open to any ideas as to how to improve.
Open-source, open to contributions!
Issues and Planned Features:
Music is from the Deflemask demos as a placeholder. This can't stay without permission from the authors so it may be different in the future.
Swirls will smoothly fall and move left by being drawn to the B plane and scrolling the B plane
Cursor is hard to see
Scoring formula sucks
Still have to plan a "Game Over" screen or reset the board when blank
